I'm not sure why you mentioned Coons, it seems like a red herring to me.

it's not a red herring. i was explaining the evolution of modern cultural anthropology to you. if it was a red herring, what part of my argument could i have been possibly trailing you away from? i was simply showing you where it went from there and where it is now. if you truly are in your 40's then i'd guess they were probably still teaching the 3 race theory in your college days. they don't anymore.

Quote (gemini)
if we look back far enough in human history it DOES become irrelevant because if we go back far enough, all human life begins in AFRICA & only a negroid race exists. Ask Chris Parker. WHITE COMES FROM BLACK.

this is exactly why the 3 race model has been thrown out.

so like i said, do you know what region the name "Erik" comes from?

eboyd, Funny, comments seem to vanish & then appear again, I think it takes time to update. Having established that a Cultural Anthropolologist knows fuckall about GENETICS, yeah, Dublin is an old VIKING city, & Erik is the quintessential Norse name, so we're talking modern day Norway, or Seden at a stretch. Names like Erik are not fashionable here though, as we're not fond of naming our kids after raping & pillaging blond invaders. The Celts were the first to develop Iron technology, its just they were too easygoing & tended to teach Iron swordmaking to the Nordic & Teutonic invaders which kind of defeats the purpose of developing high tech weaponry in the first place, as a tempered iron sword could easily smash a bronze one.

In America you get on your motorbike & drive from NY to LA, or in Norway you get in your car & drive to Spain, but Ireland is a "small remote island in the north-east atlantic" with only 5 million people, which means YouTube channels can (unfairly) grab 10 honors (some global) in 3 days, & which also means that Genetics & Culture tend to get DISTILLED, a bit like whiskey ("uisce beatha"="water of life" in Irish). We were a nation of farmers who didnt have many boats except for fishing, & we never really were into invading countries cos we weren't bothered, even though Ireland was the leading & "motherland" country in the Celtica Empire, & is usually considered to be the quintissential Celtic country today. So if you start walking into the sea...you're DEAD. Island races can be a difficult bunch for continental folk to figure out I suppose lol

eboyd, Oh, I forgot to say, I know theres TWO Underground threads, but I put my Public Enemy cover versions in the one thats in THIS section. For some reason new comments/vid pastings there get put on page THREE where noone sees them or comments. Cos Conejo is great for annoying people, but hes not really what I'm about on YouTube or here. BTW, those two are the best 2 tracks from Scarface2, the others turned out to be a big anticlimax when it was released & I cant recommend them. Anyway heres the link to the I Zion & Black Reaper versions of "REBEL WITHOUT A PAUSE" by PUBLIC ENEMY (arguably the greatest rap track of all time, certainly the most politically significant). "follow the Leader" by Rakim should also be considered for #1 of course, for reasons of Flow. The BLACK REAPER is my favorite. Heres the obscure link:

cool. yeah, those tracks are great. my personal favorite is "They Reminisce Over You" though, and i'm also into a lot of abstract shit like Saul Williams (borderline hip hop artist. kind of hard to say. he does a lot of singing as well), Sage Francis, Metaform, Clutchy Hopkins, Prefuse 73, Aesop Rock, etc., so i really like tracks like "Seaweed," "Escape Artist," "Rock It #9," "3:02," "Perverted Undertones," and "No Regrets" as well (in order of each artist i listed). idk. i'll check that out though right now.

Haha, I think hes very wise to say that, of couse we have highspeed internet & all the modern stuff, but culure is tribal here...South Boston (as in Whitey Bolger/House of Pain/The Departed) would be the closest cliche with a ring of truth to it I can think of. Alcohol should never be underestimated here, in fact not just booze, but pschoactive substances of every description are prerequisites here for any meaningful social/sexual/artistic/political transaction. Visitors coming to Dublin have asked me "Is it a special occasion with you & your friends tonight?" or "There must be some kind of City Festival on right now?" or "Is it because its the summer???" to which the locals invariably reply...

"Nah, no occasion at all, its always like this...I was SOBER, thats all...."

Mr. Obama grew up in an Irish Catholic household, & indeed was known as Barry until his late teens, when he figured using the spelling on the Birth certificate (his fathers name) might give him more credibility in College,

barry is just a short term for barrack, american's always shorten everyone's name.
