http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Industrial_hip-hop

i've been getting into this style of hip hop lately. it is more sophisticated both lyrically and sonically than any other form of hip hop and it has been around for almost 25 years now. some examples of artists in this genre are the Disposable Heroes of Hiphoprisy, Saul Williams, and Dalek. here are some videos. post more in here:

^^^^ AceKat will love this if he's still looking for ambient hip hop. the entire idea behind this group is dark ambient hip hop.

lolwut?!

haha! Menace, i'd think you would be particularly interested in this style of hip hop, Michael Franti and Saul Williams particularly. most industrial hip hop with lyrics in it has social commentary that reflects anarchist thought. Saul Williams track i posted even has Zack De La Rocha on the hook. Disposable Heroes of Hiphoprisy (Franti's group) is very "power-to-the-workers" oriented as well.

oh, and DHOHH did a cover of Grateful Dead's "California Uber Alles" with lyrics about then California governor Pete Wilson. what's more anarchist than that?! biggrin
