LMAO! OK rolleyes

i don't listen to Clipse because they are nothing special. there are SO MANY artists out there far better than Clipse in my eyes, so why would i listen to a group that i can barely even get into? they are decent and i've seen no one say they're wack ever on this entire site or in this entire group unless it was someone like Nate whose opinion is laughed at anyways.

ive never come across anyone like clipse, you cant really debate how good an artist is but they are individual for sure. but serous i tried makin a thread about clipse and only a few heads replied and not all were positive, just because theyre not rapping about how much of a pussy they are and how much time they spent in their mums basement diggin in the crates or how they dont smoke anything cos its bad theyre kinda overlooked

the gangsta/drug dealer cliche died in the 90's and i like my MC's to be prolific and diverse i only listen to artists that touch a wide range of subjects i don't like people that rap about the same shit in every song

is it our fault that even though they are decent no one really cares? i could give a shit. their music isn't that interesting to me.

he's saying that after 10-15 of that style it has gotten played out and people here, him and i included, really don't care to hear it anymore because we've heard it 1000 times. maybe if they were completely remarkable, but they're not. they are just another drug cliche rap group with decent artists involved. if Kool G Rap were in the group i probably wouldn't even be interested because his work, as of late, has been rather bland.

Hip Hop is going nowhere because it limits itself to exhausted inner city urban concepts and a sometimes self-centered or subjective approach. It's going nowhere because there is nowhere to go in the dead-end mind of hip hop. All alleyways have been explored. The only way to find something new is to look outside of hip hop's mind and outside of the urban mentality.

We all know that each of our end is near; the question is do we accept the end of our living existence, or do we accept our existence as dead men...

idk I was just listening to this one track with Drake and Lil Wayne and Drake is actually better than I thought he would be
That was my first time listening to him and he seems promising
Asher Roth isnt all that bad, hes not too lyrical tho

Sinner!! Burn!!

alot of MCs rapped before I were porn

On a sidenote, Charles Hamilton is whack.

I never thought of Charles Hamilton as a lil Kanye
But lets be sensible
Nas was once seen as a Lil Rakim
Jay-Z was once seen as a Lil Biggie
Canibus was once seen as Lil Rakim as well
Eminem was once seen as Vanilla Ice mixed with Big Daddy Kane and Rakim
all the legends go thru these comparison stages until they finally get their own identity

Yes, but which one's better, a mini Lil Wayne or a mini Rakim? or a mini Biggie? Either way I think Eboyd is spot on with the mini Kanye West comparison.

Oh no.. The two Kanye West/Charles Hamilton fans agree on something. I apologize for hating on heartbeat 707 (or what ever the name of that album was).

hmmm..... how about HELL-2-the-NO!!!!!

if you're saying eminem wasn't influenced by Rakim check out a youtube channel called EminemClips

it has old and rare footage and songs of Eminem and eminem was practically biting Rakim's style, Eminem actually had the exact same haircut as rakim and on his 1992 demo the songs sound just like eric b and rakim stuff

In my opinion it really isn't if the mcs can keep hip hop alive, but rather the fans, the youth, our generation, is at loss when it comes to comprehending what hip hop really is. Not a hot ass ringtone you can show your bff, but a urban cultural based expression of thoughts and ideas, the mcs will always be there, but will the people take the time to embrace it as it once was, or will it just be another genre left for scavengers. So its really not on point to ask if the mcs are keeping their end its if the people are noticing it. Because whats the point of singing a song when only you will hear it?
