Don't know if it happens a lot to Guru, but I know Common does it a lot. Take 'State of Clarity'... Guru was good, but both the featured artists amazed me. Common had one of my favourite verses, Bob James dropped a great solo on the keyboard. Same story in Living Legend, although Guru was amazing, the jazz artist took it.
Common did it again in "Days of Our Lives" by De La Soul. De La Soul ft. Dres - En Focus De La Soul ft. Shortie No Mass - In The Woods. (Don't know if she stole the attention, but she was mad with it)
