Yeah a lot of people do compare it. As if its the highest mark, the perfect 10 to scale albums by. But then when people say its overrated and not that good, which some of us here believe. I just wonder what is the perfect 10 album your rating by. And if there isn't one, what business do you have deciding if a album is the high mark?

Because what Nas did on that album is remarkable. No rapper did what Nas did on that album. He portrayed the streets with lyrics that you need to listen to over and over again to understand, and ontop of that the beats are dope. Nas talked about his life, struggle, etc etc into lyrics that are amazing. The way he portrayed the streets with his lyrics is something not a lot of rappers achieved on their albums.
