maybe he's bored with making pop n club music like Ludacris and he wanted to make some good hip-hop to see how it'd be?

He hasn't always been a pop "icon". I mean some of he's older older albums were somewhat classic imo.

you can't give a free pass to Jay-z even if he did a classic album and now he trying to do some good hip hop he was a factor in the corporate monopolization of hip hop we can't ignore that in understanding the evolution of hip hop and why hip hop is going downhill

But I don't think he did it with bad intentions.
He came from the gutter and wanted money, so he took as much as possible.
I don't blame him one bit.
It was somewhat justified. On top of that, hiphop was monopolized before he came around. I think that Bad Boy and Death Row started the whole "Get Money" thing, especially Death Row.
No offense, I love them both. But they should be to blame, not guys from the 1998-1999-2000 years.
Plus Jay-z was great in the Mid-Late ninetys.

So??? What relavence does this have??? NONE. Just like Master P, he's using his uprising as a justifier which is weak, both of them are elitists and coons that ruin economics and will do almost anything to get hands on money no one else can have just like a businessman, which in a sense is what they are, so fuck them.

I always thought an eliteist was someone who thought they were better/stronger than everyone because they had money?
Jay-Z has always thought he was better than everyone before he was rich. Over-Cofidence is an important thing in hiphop. You gotta seem like you think your raw and dont give a fuck, even if you do give a fuck and you aren't raw.
On top of that, I don't get why people think that just because someone is rich, it means they are an elitest. He made his money making music. Good for him. Let him keep it. He should'nt have to give some away to poor people or feel bad about having it. He put in his work.
Don't get mad at him. Get mad at the people who were born into money. Jay-Z didn't do shit to make other people poor besides make music. He didn't make people buy it.
It's not his fault shit is the way it is.
Fuck that. I support him, money or not. I could give a fuck-less how much money he has. I thought it was about the MUSIC here, and giving artists equal airplay and shit. Sometimes I feel like all people care about here is the opressed, revolution, and other cliche' ways of thinking, like "Oh shits fucked up. Let's have a giant revolution". Sure, thats cool. But people incorporate into EVERYTHING. And the shit gets really old. It's just some people have one track-minds here. I'm not going to name name's, but shit...... It gets old when no matter what the topic is, someone jumps in with the politcal bullshit.

that's the fucking shit he took a break for making MUSIC and began to make hip hop a business and a music can't be made a business you can't involve business in your music because that's when shit starts to smell music is music and business is business you don't put them together you don't let executives monopolize the entire culture Death row or Bad Boy weren't the first to take the artistic rights from artists and give them to to businessmen Roc-A-Fella Records was the first to do that whit UMG they were the first to put clauses in contracts they were the first that took the artistic power from artists took the freedom of an artist over his music took his creativity and gave it to a businessman WHO HAS NO MUSIC QUALIFICATIONS until Reasonable Doubt this move was null in the hip hop music industry even 2pac had no clauses in his Death Row contract that's why they left Death Row when they wanted which an artist now days can't really leave like that whit out court appeals and a big scandal

yes that's why we do this we look to the underlying problems of the music industry it seems you don't get it or you don't want to get it it's not our fault is not "cliche" music because corporate monopolization is going downhill why you think nobody gives artists equal airplay anymore ?? ever heard of the Radio act passed in 96? or how business interests block other artists from getting airplay ? oh wait you ain't into this cliche shit I'm sorry

well that's hip hop the art of rhyme as that documentary said it's modern urban poetry if we stripped down the art of rhyme for hip hop then nothing will really remain we will be in the same crisis we was back in the 80's when people said it was dying but then the golden age MC's came out whit their rhymes and kicked the butts of the disco MC's
