what relevance does him calling hip hop a nation have? he's trying to turn hip hop into a religion, you know like the NATION of Islam???? that's why he says things in his songs like hip hop is a nation etc, "temple of hip hop", its all part of him trying to make it a religion.

did you read my comment? he's introducing these terms in his music to make people think hip hop is supposed to be a nation etc. jeez, he's using these terms IN HIS MUSIC, yeah he didn't do it in the past but he's been doing it ever since 2002

what ?? the BET hip hop awards some years ago was called Hip Hop Nation and yes HIP HOP is uplifting people Lupe Fiasco said hip hop saved my life does it mean a hardcore Muslim like Lupe tries to make hip hop a religion ? well no your just overacting because your not used to see hip hop used as a social instrument conscious MC's always used such words

i never said hip hop wasn't supposed to uplift people, i said KRS-One made it seem like emcees are ONLY meant to uplift, that if you write a rhyme that doesn't uplift people than you're not an emcee. and where did i say anyone trying to rhyme about uplifting people is trying to make it a religion, only KRS is doing that, KRS said so himself.

i know a lot of the history of hip hop, what i disagree with is that it would become a religion, also its like people like KRS are adding these things to it which don't need to be there, calling it a nation etc and now a religion, its like they're trying to re-write it or something.
