We've got another thread similar to this one but not the same. I was wondering, which albums do you consider to be Hip Hop classics? A classic to me is something that stands out from the rest and is preferably something you can play all the way through without skipping tracks although a few fillers are alright if the rest is absolutely outstanding. I don't really care whether the album is new or old as long as it's dope.

I'll start with:

Tupac - Me Against the World
Redman - Muddy Waters
Biggie - Ready to Die
Dr. Dre - The Chronic
Snoop Dogg - Doggystyle
Nas - Illmatic
Wu-Tang Clan - Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)
GZA - Liquid Swords
Raekwon - Only Built 4 Cuban Linx
Method Man & Redman - Blackout

There's more but I'll add them later if anyone else actually bothers too.

At the very least WOTM and Madvillainy are classics out of those. I'd argue for others as well. Madvillainy was the single most successful underground hip hop album ever and WOTM, imo, was better than SRITE. Better/harder hitting beats, it's longer, comparable lyricism, etc.

As for Meth claiming OB4CL2 was a classic, this is the same guy that, months ago, was claiming Nas - "Untitled" was a classic rofl

Dude, that's your right now album. Give it a few months and I guarantee you'll still like it but you won't call it classic. It's a decent album. Let's not blow shit out of proportion though. "Untitled", "OB4CL2", "Relapse", etc., are all albums that just came out and, while they may have been significant in different ways, none of them are classics.
