Word, seriously. im finishing up this other book so i only read the first chapter but it was very well written so far and has me very excited for NY State of Mind chapter. The book really gets in detail at what they feel Nas was trying to get across to not just the hip hop community but the world. I've slept on wild style my whole life cuz it has the outer appearance of being a terrible movie, but they really break it down for me in the chapter about genesis and im really upset with myself that i passed on such an important part of history. i have to get that shit ASAP .

the wild style movie? its not that great. its worth watching just to see what the hype is about and so you can say "yeah i've seen that movie", but its not that good.

the reason why though is they get in depth on what Nas was trying to convey in genesis and i had no idea it went that deep. it coincides with what was said in the book. it looks cheesy but sure its the first hip hop movie, or at least they say it is in the book
