i haven't heard the whole album but the beat for Ruthless 2 Death Row definitely doesn't suck, some of the other songs i heard though weren't that good, D.O.C says he doesn't consider this a proper album

but to me D.O.C's lyrics don't suck at all and the beats are pretty good

it may be better if you're a hardcore hardcore D.O.C fan, there are some good tracks on it actually, once you get used to his voice, the people on that site probably listened to it once, heard his raspy voice and were put off. the beats from Erotic D were pretty sick, Erotic D even assisted Dre with a couple samples from the Niggaz4Life album.

best song off that is From Ruthless 2 Death Row. that song is not on youtube though, only the remix of it is on youtube which is nowhere near as good.

Im a die hard DOC fan and Im saying that his lyrics were better, more mature and not only braggadocio.

D.O.C and RBX are both Dope and worth the buy...Simple! I dont know man... I'm pretty much down with buying anything that's nice, it doesnt have to be a classic for me. But then again I'm a bit older and not so much into the downloading thing... I still download but also buy the shit if I like it. I'd rather throw 20 bucks down on a CD than go waste it on some other bullshit... A CD costs as much as going to see a movie(with snacks) pretty much and it lasts a lifetime if you want it to....A movie or a meal only lasts 2 hours. Spend Wisely!

I never buy a CD until I won't download it and give it a listen. I don't want to have a shitty suprise.

But the good surprises are that much better...also, some of the albums i bought back in the day i didnt like too much but I listen now and I love them cuz I've changed and can relate more or for various other reasons. Not to mention I like to support hip hop cuz maybe the dudes first album wasnt great but with proper support his next project might be that much better and close some doors on the bullshit that's out now... Downloading is the problem with all the bullshit music out people! Nobody wants to work hard on a project to have ppl only download it. Why do u think hip hop is so dumbed down now? Start buying real hip hop... logging into a website and discussing music or looking for new shit to DL is NOT support!

i did. i think his voice, in the state it's in, would be much more suited for some horrorcore, Gravediggaz type shit than some west coast G-Funk like he tried to do here. idk. it just gives the music an element that doesn't quite work. he could seriously put together a great project if he just put something together that fit his voice better.... and avoided singing at all costs lol! the beats and tracks are ok btw. nothing special. i think i'll check "No One Can Do It Better" next.

i agree we need to support the artist and buy their albums and while i know artists get upset at people dl'ing their work, as an artist myself, getting it out there is more important to me than selling mega copies. artists actually make more at concerts and the more people dl'ing it, the more potential fans will come to your concert. as an artist myself i recognize this. while i recognize it costs me money to press my shit and so i do wish to at least sell enough hard copies to make a small profit, it is more important for me to get my shit out there so that when i do decide to go and do a concert i have a fan base that i can make aware that i am planning a show and i can make my money there. but overall the problem of downloading (it is definitely a problem of sorts) is not the problem that is leading to wack music. on the contrary, some of your favorite artists embrace downloading. don't believe me? i have connects to some of your favorite artists and could easily ask them. trust me. the artist have, do and always will bank more on concerts than album sales even prior to the download era. no, this is not the problem with music today, but rather it is a reflection of a system that is corrupt. dl'ing is actually a sign of revolt from the people against the record industry and the system itself who give us very little money and expect us to be able to buy their products so that with mediocre jobs we can barely skirt by. dl'ing is a method of bypassing this system. the people have effectively, through technology, revolutionized the record industry. i support dl's. what i don't support is a system that doesn't embrace dl's, effectively hurting the artist quite severely.

the problem is record companies aren't going to promote certain artists or invest much money in certain artists if they don't sell, which is why these labels would rather be promoting wack artists that cater to teenagers coz they sell more records. that's why i don't support downloading.

do you not realize that signing to a record label, for most underground artists, actually loses them money? they are at a greater advantage if the record companies don't sign them because they make more money independent:

"“I have turned down lots and lots of deals,” Technique said, referring to potential corporate contracts. “I really could make a lot of money, if I decided to prostitute myself. But looking at the hip-hop game, I realized that independents make more money, on average, the people who are in the commercial game."
