originally made by lord meth but it wasn't a poll thread I been listening to Blu alot lately and Im starting to see alot of talent. He reminds me of Common in a way. He has the multies, the DJ, the lyrics, the story, and drive to make good music. And me being the type to compare artists with a good rival I came across Lupe Fiasco who too had the same qualities as Blu. Most underound fans say that Lupe is underrated in the underground scene while Blu gets wide acclaim. But my question is who is the better artist? Not just lyrically but musically.

hmm i don't listen to a lot of Lupe tbh, i'd go with Blu coz i like his style more, he raps about real life topics, also Blu is a producer as well as an emcee, i think GODleeBarnes is his producing name. btw you should have made this a poll thread, you can still do that but it has to be a new thread

The thing is with Lupe he has alot of Fillers in his albums. But Lupe definately can make a good track. Lupe and Blu are too "new" still to have made an everlasting impact on Hip Hop yet tho but they both have potential to be productive artists. Is Blu working on anything new? I dont want him to fall into the darkness of the Underground and be like Chino (always releasing an album every 4 fours or so)

Yea I agree with Joker. Lupe mos def raps about real life topics. He doesnt mope and rap about his own life. But then again BLu even said in a song he's not conscious and he doesnt follow politics so that might mean he doesnt follow World Issues that much either unlike Lupe Tho Ive been listening to Below the Heavens alot, Lupe is still a better artist.

lupe has more bangers in my playlist but i happen to think both are slightly overrated. lupe's daydream, the cool and the coolest are classic imo.
