here is the quote

KRS-One explaining the difference between an MC and a rapper

"What I'm saying is, that the MC has to know what rhyme to say at what time. You just don't say any rhyme, you have to move the crowd. A Master of Ceremony doesn't necessarily move the crowd, but an MC, the way Rakim described the MC, moves the crowd. But you can't move the crowd unless you have DJ capabilities. These are some of the differences, and some of the more intricate levels...a DJ is an MC, and an MC is a DJ."

is krs right but just said it in a hard way to understand?
or is he just crazy?

Right, but it seems like he described a lot of points very briefly. I guess he got off topic a bit idk.

I JUST EXPLODED INTO RAINBOWS AND LOLLIPOPS!

i'm not sure but i think what he meant by that "an mc has to know what rhyme to say" as in he has to have skill i guess i'm not sure maybe someone can help explain that to me.

also its funny how he's now going by Rakims definition, before on the song Classic KRS-One said the difference between emceeing and rap was "this is the difference between emceeing and rap, rappers spit rhymes that are mostly illegal, mcs spit rhymes to uplift their people", now he's choosing to go by Rakims definition, but notice when Rakim said it he said:

"because to me MC means Move the Crowd"

Rakim never said this as if his word was gospel and thats what it had to mean, he said thats what it means to him. I'm not sure if KRS is saying this as if its gospel or as if an MC must mean what he said in that video but thats the way it came across to me

also i don't really get the part where he said "an mc is a dj and a dj is an mc", maybe someone can explain that to me too lol

also if you were to go by the move the crowd definition well soulja boy also moves the crowd, infact he moved his crowd with his dances better than most

before i was against the idea of KRS trying to make a hip hop religion, but now i don't really care as much after listening to a video from a philosopher Howard Bloom where he talked about how something doesn't necessarily have a god to be a religion etc, i can't remember the exact quotes he said but it made perfect sense when he said it. the only thing i have a problem with is if he starts trying to change the history of what hip hop was and dictate his own opinion on hip hop as if its gospel, or if he starts saying that real hip hop must be a religion otherwise it isn't real hiop hop or if he says that it always was a religion or hip hop is a god, i think that would just be sad. the idea of real hip hop is already becoming confused as it is %) i'm not sure but judging by some of his comments such as:
"this is hip hop manifested as KRS-One" and "hip hop is divine" it seems he is already trying to say hip hop is a god
