This question was asked by an underground female emcee..i thought some of the answers were interesting and very honest by men. being a man, can u relate better if the same topic was coming from a man than a woman? but the main thing is what turns u off?

Lil Kim's way to be accepted as a female emcee is turning herself into a cock-hungry slut. Same shit about Choice.
Lil Kim sold many records but her reputation got damaged.

Plus most female emcees sound the same and some of em want to act tough because they have no better idea how to make it in a hip-hop game. You know, "I'm a bad bitch, don't fuck with me or I'll serve yo' ass with 'K 47", that turns me off.

true some sounds the same, as far as that tuff act, i do prefer a female rapper has a little deeper voice than squeeky.. i like female emcees if they are good..dam i remember lil kim was sick back in the 90's though..although she was always nasty to me but got worse..her voice though is a killer for a female..wish we have better emcees for the girls to have better role models in the music industry..

i know what u mean strykah, i guess they feel that have to try harder than anyone else and it shows, which in turn comes out bad to others..i remember many listened in on lauryn hill, mc lyte, missy, queen latifah, ladybug mecca, lin-que from x-clan, salt n peppa ect. which were all unique ladies so i guess in this time and age, to be a luved female mc u have to be damm good and sadly work harder than the rest or be extremely unique in ur own way to stand out over the rest..

i agree, thats what Eternia does and i don't think shes that good. i think Rah Digga does it a bit too. i don't care if they're women i just want to hear good songs but some of them rap about nothing like a lot of male emcee's too

lauryn hill and jean grae are dope though, esp jean graes newer stuff

I guess the main reason is that I can't relate, and Its just a dominance kind of issue if that makes sense, idk.

not that crazy about eternia either, i only keep up with some of her twitters to update the site but not as much as i keep up with other artists lol

@adam, if she rapped about the same topic as a male emcee, could u still relate or do u mean u cant relate coming from a girl even if it was the same track done by a male? i'm just curious

I like her persona. She IS wat women need in hip hop right now sadly..thats the only voice Im hearing right now from the females...
But I honestly do like some of her stuff tho...Her voice and flow is crazy dope. We need more women to step up there game tho and get their voice heard!
Like Shad said..
"And I’ve been known to talk about women
on a track or two
I talk to women, I just can’t talk for women
That’s for you
We need women for that
More women in rap
Even tracks like Kwali’s Four Women
That’s still only half the view of the world
There’s no girls rappin’ so we’re only hearin’ half the truth" - Keep Shining
