the way you feel or your emotion when listening to something is just another way for saying your opinion. thats all those guys meant its just opinionated. So yeah w/e I hate people that say shit like that because then that just gives no purpose to competition in music or anything for that matter. And we all know competition is good mcs deserve to clash and collide. If we all thought "its just opinion" we would never grow.

It depends.
I personally think, is all about originality and skills. I do believe, Masta Ace, Kool Keith, BDK, Rakim are better than Biggie, 2pac (after Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.S.), Bone-Thugs & Harmony, and Eminem, 'cause they are more original, and their skills on the mic, are overall, superior, but, i know most people think this are the BEST EVAR!. So, it all breaks down to mere opinion

Music is incomparable but artists r definately comparable cuz every artist has something different u can critque and judge to the next artist. Ex. Rakim is lyrically superior to Busta Rhymes, but Busta Rhymes' energy and hype on-stage surpasses Rakim's. Those r two different "traits" of an MC that u can unbiasedly judge and compare. But when it comes down to "musically" judging ur favorites, its all opinionated.

of course you can compare them, thats bullshit saying you can't. you can compare styles, skill level, the beat, the samples used, lyrics used and you can do the same thing with any other art form too. sure we all have our own preferences and have more of an emotional connection to one song more than another but that doesn't mean you can't compare the actual artist with another artist.
