 Before Premo contacted with Guru, Gangstarr was a trio: Guru, DJ Mark the 45 King and Mike Dee (not to be confused with the one and only legendary Mikey D from Jamaica Queens). They dropped few records produced by 45

Shug and Guru were good friends but Shug got locked up for some shit and, while he was in prison, Guru formed Gangstarr with 45 and Mike Dee. When Shug was released from prison in 1993, Gang Starr was already famous so he joined Gang Starr Foundation.

Mike Dee formed The Posse NFX and in 1991 they released an album. They didn't blow up and Mike never showed up on the rap scene again, he propably quit rapping.

 man he would have been dope if Mark 45 King stuck with these guys, but he got addicted to drugs and disappeared, re-appeared producing on of jay-z's most famous songs "Hardknock Life" and one of Eminem's best songs "Stan" and then disappeared again, just imagine what he would have done with Gang Starr. and yeah i was also surprised that guru actually had emotion in his voice
