First impression was the quite opposite. That electronic and autotuned wack hook thingy that played in the beginning sounded very much like the shitty shit that's been out recently.
Dre went hard, but Akon sure takes out the hard of the song. A song named Kush on an album called Detox, what's up with that? And what's the concept of the album anyway? Would've thought it was something in the other direction judging from the title. Added (13/Dec/10, 1:14 Am)

Well assuming he's going to go with the whole gimmick Em has gone with for the past few years (struggling with drug addiction), maybe this will be one of the songs where he is indulging, then in other songs he will speak about trying to get away from it. Who knows. Dre is weird. It's been nearly 7 years since this shit was supposed to come out. This might just be another marketing scheme. And I agree with the Akon thing. Akon.. Just... Dammit. Akon fucks it up. Oh well. I still respect Dre. He's done too much for the game for me to disrespect him as an artist. Same with Eminem. He pisses me off with his Rihanna/Wayne shit, but fuck, that doesn't change the fact that he has released some insanely dope stuff.

Yeah, might be some sort of an extrema in a bigger picture. But I don't think it'll have that effect anyway, since it's singles that are played on the radio, and this doesn't seem to have traces of Em's gimmick.
Of course lousy later shit doesn't make good previous work worse, but good previous work doesn't make his lousy shit any better either. Promoting his wack shit because he used to do good shit is not a good idea I think. I agree though, can't put him down as wack because of one bad song. Eminem really needs to stop fucking around with Lil Wayne.

at first i didn't like the Kush song but after a few listens i actually think the song is alright, i think the only reason Akon is on that song is because Nate Dogg had a stroke so he can't sing anymore, otherwise it would have been Nate Dogg on that song you can even hear parts of the song where a singer tries singing like Nate Doggs deep voice. but honestly the song is not so bad and sadly this will probably be one of the best songs on Detox because they always release the best songs as the singles so don't go expecting Detox to be better than this song also i bet you Detox will be delayed from February till June, same exact thing happened to Eminems Relapse and Recovery albums, both of those were slated for a February release and never came out till June

Hehehe...I still have hope for detox! Like a said a while back when RHHF finally released their track, if this song can take forever to drop and still be good so can Detox lol Actually Dre didnt want Kush to be leaked but after it reached the Top 25 singles, he just went along with it.
This might actually give him more motivation to release Detox after seeing Kush's success.
