man, this is so fucking hard. on the one hand, the songs that are good on Follow The Leader are just so fucking hard. they are ten times better than anything on 3 Feet High. however, all the instrumental tracks are just so fucking wack lol. let's be real: Eric B. was garbage haha. and even if he was good, he was a fraud. he wasn't even actually producing any of the tracks. it was all Ra and Marley Marl doing that shit and Marley did most of the cuts but Eric B. just threw his name on shit. but from how was the instrus are here i assume that those were the only tracks he was actually involved in. as for 3 Feet High, there's nothing lyrically stunning on it, just a lot of great, classic fun raps. and the production is top notch. Prince Paul at his prime. while that album doesn't have tracks like "Follow The Leader", "Microphone Fiend", and "Lyrics of Fury" (though i would argue that "Magic Number", "Me Myself, and I" and "Buddy" are damn good too), the production is solid all the way through, and the raps fit in perfect and so they take nothing away and actually add to the album in many ways. also, clocking in at 20 tracks compared to Follow The Leader's 11, 3 Feet High is a much more fulfilling listen. two classic albums and staples in hip hop, but i'm going to have to give it to 3 Feet High simply because it is just so much more consistent and fully satisfying than Follow The Leader.

HIPPIE RAP FTW!!!

Troll? They made it abundantly clear that their style wasn't hippie. They said it on talk shows, songs, they devoted a whole fucking album to it.

A line from from "Me, Myself and I": 'You say Plug One and Two are hippies, no we're not, that's pure plug bull".
They threw in a response to the host on the live vid.

I vote for De La Soul. Even though I've played it a million times, I still think it's better than "Follow the Leader", which is dope too.

@adam, wasn't sure, and since people still think it was hippie rap, I figured I could clear that out. It's not a competition. Also.. Hipsters? Whoah

which makes this overall 9 votes each, so we still need more votes
