I'm not much of a fan for either album though, God Loves Ugly started off meh to me, when i was listening to the first half of god loves ugly i thought Disposable Arts would get my vote fur sure, but God Loves Ugly really picked up in the second half. Disposable Arts was just kinda boring for me, there were a couple songs i liked but most of it was boring to me, esp masta ace's flow, i can't stand his flow how he always pauses after every bar http://chirbit.com/emseed http://youtube.com/siwooot
Disposable arts is just so stale to me, he talks about basically the same shit every song about how he is getting old and his relevance is going away, and that subject matter is so boring to me. Sure his flow is top notch but the beats are meh.
God hates ugly is a very colorful and energetic album that goes into a lot of different areas of thought. Plus slug is extremely cool for talking about and confronting a lot of the issues that other rappers would deem weak or silly for mentioning. He likes to talk about stuff that others would naturally avoid.
he talks about basically the same shit every song about how he is getting old and his relevance is going away
he only talks about it in what...2 songs? i like god loves ugly too but i just dont think its on the same level as disp. arts and most of the beats on GLU are "meh" "We took pride in intellect and skill Now you gotta have some sex appeal to get a record deal" - K-RINO
