I agree that MM should be higher than Low End Theory. Some say Instinctive Travels... Is their best actually. I also like seeing LWFC being on there instead of Resurrection. Resurrection is overrated as fuck to me. There are 2 good tracks. That's it. I disagree on Illmatic and OB4CL though. Those are, to me, respectively the 2 most overrated albums in hip hop history. Both still dope, just overrated. Here's mine: 1. GZA - Liquid Swords 2. Percee P - Perseverance 3. Wu Tang Clan - 36 Chambers 4. Common - Like Water For Chocolate 5. Madvillain - Madvillainy 6. Jeru The Damaja - The Sun Rises In The East 7. Black Star - Mos Def And Talib Kweli Are Black Star 8. Edan - Beauty And The Beat 9. Mos Def - Black On Both Sides 10. Blu & Exile - Below The Heavens 11. Heiruspecs - A Tiger Dancing 12. Dr. Octagon - Dr. Octagonecologyst 13. Deltron 3030 - Deltron 3030 14. ATCQ - Midnight Marauders Mind you these are only out of what I own. If I haven't heard an album before it doesn't make it here and most albums I've fully listened to I own. Hon. Mention: MF DOOM - Mm... Food? Dalek - Abandoned Language King Geedorah - Take Me To Your Leader El-P - I'll Sleep When You're Dead Talib Kweli - Eardrum Common - Finding Forever Aesop Rock - None Shall Pass Aesop Rock - Labor Days Y-Society - Travel At Your Own Pace Elzhi - The Preface

I recognize them for what they are. They are known to others as the best. I've experienced some of that stuff too. I've had people I know die from gang violence (luckily no close friends though), good friends who became drug dealers, went to prison for stealing a car, etc., but I haven't been through it like that and I guess for that reason I can't relate. I've been around it but never directly in it. That is why conscious hip hop that is more complex in rhyme scheme and language and other unique forms of hip hop appeal to me more.

in a culture where we strive for diversity is hard to make a list and such things even a top 10 MCs list or something the culture itself can't be put in a corner
