lol! well, i grew up on Pac and BTNH but through Pac i got into Rakim and after my stupid phase of trying to be cool and playing music i didn't like (Ying Yang, Lil Jon, Franchize Boyz, 50, etc.) i started listening to straight underground and old school, so i like a lot of LA shit, and like i said, i grew up on Pac and BTNH, and i'll add Snoop, Warren G (my friend's mom was like best friends with him in elementary), Cube (my uncle took the pic on the cover of Lethal Injection), Dre (he also took the cover pic for "Chronic"), etc., but i've grown to like more mature subject matter and complex beats. you know, if we are talking LA, Blu, Madlib, Dilated Peoples, PUTS, etc., and also artists who are more abstract. i am into poetry (and i make music that is a hybrid btw poetry and MCing) so i like Saul Williams and people like that. i also like Aesop Rock, El-P, MF DOOM, Dalek, Kool Keith, Deltron 3030, etc.

man, i feel you. i go out to Inglewood and Crenshaw all the time because they are both between me and where i go to school (Santa Monica College) and i used to go to a gym in Inglewood to buff up for football season. i also go to Melrose once in a while (not that ghetto, except in certain parts) and there's a Fat Beats out there and a small clothing shop that sells bongs and bootleg CDs. i remember i used to pick up all of the Makaveli series Pac albums there. also, Percee P, who is my fav emcee, hangs out in front of Fat Beats here like every day.
