What I said was that Obama's ideas (and yes, I have read his voting record too) seem more likely to benefit the common folk than McCain's. Nothing more nothing less.

I guess we could say that voting is the best way within the American political system. But to vote doesn't really matter, but that's how this system is built. The key is building a better system. Not too likely though.

We all know that each of our end is near; the question is do we accept the end of our living existence, or do we accept our existence as dead men...

voting is a waste of time because the american Republican system is the same when it comes to government as the Marxist-Leninist types of governments anyone here heard of the Wilsonian doctrine ?? Woodrow Wilson a former president of the USA put into practice in the US the system of elitism and the idea that a coordinator class no matter the party must always lead the masses this coordinator class is best fit to lead the masses because they know what's good for everyone. So we got here the same vanguard type of thinking that Marxist-Leninist's use and note in the history of the US in particular nothing was REALLY won trough voting from civil rights to labor rights all was won trough mass movements.

Quote (I_Guy)
I hope we usher in an era of pure socialism

yeah participatory economics/ anarcho-syndicalism ( in fact everything in the Libertarian Socialist category ) are the only humanist ways

Quote (I_Guy)
at least something similar to Roosevelt in the ‘30s and ‘40s.

we can't do that capitalism developed and gone trough that stage already because historically productivity goes hand in hand whit wages but capitalism passed that while productivity grows wages don't in that time productivity was on the same chart whit wages while capitalism grew the accumulation of capital allowed these 2 factors to split
