Why Voting Is A COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME

Lets choose the lesser evil thats the one thing we think when we vote or lets vote whit the neo-liberal (Obama) cause he is a liberal so he is good . Well on the other hand neo-liberalism enforced more corporate agendas and wars in other countries then conservatism. In reality liberals are eating democracy alive in the same way cons do in fact the position of power that liberals have gives them a free way to bite the both sides of the spectrum cause centrism allows them to do that. The voter falls for a few promises that the candidate makes them and falls for the illusion that those few promises will change something but the reality is that they give us "something" but they take that "something" back in the tripled amounts and that stands for both cons and liberals. The United States likes to portray itself as the bastion of freedom and champion of democracy, but if this were really true then there would be at least 6 or 8 different parties to choose from at election time, and given that it is now a country of over 300 million people a choice of at least 10 different parties would be more appropriate, but instead there are just two. Why is this? The reason comes down to the "concentration of power" issue that we addressed in an earlier article with respect to corporate America and the systematic disenfranchisement of its population. The reality is that the two remaining political parties, the Democratic and Republican parties are in fact one, and the only reason that the ultimate step is never taken and the parties merged is that with one party to vote for and an election being completely superfluous, even Joe Sixpack would realize that he is living in a dictatorship. So the 2 remaining parties continue to dumbbell around each other for ever, maintaining the thinnest facade of democracy, and controlling the country for their elitist masters via their duopoly of power. The plutocratic elites who control the United States and both the Democratic and Republican parties also have complete control over the media, whose job it is to maintain the illusion of democracy, especially during the farcical circus of the election campaign. They do this by playing up contrived and trivial differences between the parties and by playing up personalities who the voting public can identify with, a recent example of this crude but effective approach being the Alaskan hockey mom Sarah Palin suddenly being thrust forward into the limelight, and intended to provide a counterpoint to the sagging old man who would be President, John McCain. At a time of life when he should be content to sit in a rocking chair on his front porch, and dead head the roses and perhaps give occasional advice to troubled young people, McCain intends to try to run a country of 300 million people. He looks like one long haul flight would finish him off. Although Obama would seem to be the better choice for President, on account of his youthful energy, generally positive dynamic attitude and eloquent use of English, the sad fact is that he is in the pockets of his plutocratic masters just as McCain is and must end up doing their bidding - if he wasn't his funding would have dried up and he would have been run into a ditch long ago. So with both parties and both candidates completely compromised and representing the same vested interests, it is clear that voting will accomplish absolutely nothing and change nothing - it is a complete and utter waste of time. The entire election campaign is a charade whose real purpose is to continue the elites' stranglehold on power, whilst at the same time maintaining the illusion that the US is a free and fair society, but otherwise it is a total waste of time and energy. The lack of any substantive difference between the parties is worth making clear at this juncture, because it means that it is largely irrelevant to the markets who wins the election, and it is the purpose of this article to point this out. It is always good to end an essentially gloomy article on a positive note. Whoever wins the election and becomes the next President has got to be an improvement on the crass and imbecilic George W Bush, who only got the job through extreme corruption and graft. If nothing else, election day does provide a chance to socialize and may even present the opportunity for single readers to find a partner. The following chat up lines are tentatively suggested... Male voter in line to female voter: "You do realize this is a complete waste of time don't you? - we won't change anything..." Female voter: "Well, yes, but what the heck..." Male voter: "Might I suggest that we go back to my place and try something a lot more meaningful"...

Menace, you do know that here in America the presidential nominee isn't the only choice on the ballot, right? Plus there are way more choices than Obama or McCain. Unfortunately they are the only two that matter though. Also, I am well aware that both candidates secretly represent the corporate agenda but we are going through an economic crunch right now and I and many others are directly affected. As Obama follows Clinton's ideas on the economy, we will, to say the least, get that fixed temporarily.

He’s a millionaire but even he doesn’t have the funds to legitimately compete with the Republican and Democratic parties. When the politicians for the two big parties recently had a public debate, Linn wasn’t even allowed to take part in it! So much for the idea that’s supposed to be the bedrock of democracy, the free exchange of ideas! and eric give them one finger they eat the whole hand so whatever fallin for the voting illusion whenever is still a waste of time and goes against the main principle of democracy to vote and participate in a plutocratic and oligarchic system

and one thing more eric u cant compare Clinton's era whit Obama's era cause for america the period when Clinton won was a pretty much quiet decade the fall of communism and the relatively time of peace but u cant compare it whit now days Clinton had a pretty much small job to take care but now the president haves a falling economy and a world wide fallin economy too and free market that cant save the situation plus the power is in the hands of the congress and the central banks and corporations and one thing more maybe u dont know that Obama is a neo-liberal Clinton was a new democrat and a advocate of the third way so u cant compare

Ok, I just erased a long ass comment on accident so I will now just highlight the important things: -Clinton was after the fall of communism -In the long run, yes, Obama's policies are as bad as McCain's -sure, Mit Romney or Ron Paul would be better -they wouldn't stand a chance -i preferred the moderator in the 9/26 debates to either candidate -Obama's policies will provide temporary partial relief from Reaganomics, McCain follows Reaganomics to the T which would make the situation worse -in California, prop. 8 may make gay marriage illegal and prop 5 may make it so nonviolent drug crimes are treated instead of harshly punished, two very important bills -i can understand your frustration with Americas system of corporatocracy but telling people not to vote when one candidate can make things slightly better, for a little while at least, is asinine

Here's what I'm saying though Menace. I can do my part in envoking revolution and changing the government on my own time and hopefully it will happen IN DUE TIME as in THE LONG RUN but FOR NOW I want the best I can get regardless of if it is minutely better or extraordinarily better. Sure, my vote is probably insignificant, but my vote is just one more vote towards getting what I want so even if it goes the other way at least I can say that I did my part to make it better for us at least for the time being, then I can go worry about doing something to help uproot the weed that is the American capitalist system on my own time.

The thing that wasted my time was how the aus media has been talking about the US elections like iw was our own, and when i would listen to the BBC world service which imo is fairly good news service fuck the US elections was talked about everyday too, no shit i want compo from america for wasting 24 hours of my life lol... I agree with menace tho fuck these elections and all US elections its wack how long they go for and how much money gets spent on them and with how shady the elite are there is never a change unless perhaps a 3rd party won it... only change for america this time is that its falling on her ass and china will soon be crowned new super power, i also read somwhere china loaned america $1 trillion so now they are in china's pocket like they have been with israel for the last 10 years or so
I looked at the moon so full and so bright And then at the fireplace with its flickering light And realised why this world will never be right
