I'm putting it here...
I need as MUCH help as I can get when it comes to battling.
I've been working for MONTHS and taken all advice given to me into consideration but apparently I still suck monkey dicks.
So help me out here! I suck more than bacon :(
Btw, if you write a comment suggesting I just suck dick and will never improve, it will be deleted.

I think you just need creativity. And a lot of imagination. Because all your raps read the same.

try freestyling in your head, that's what got me better, NtG said he was doing that too and you can see how much better his more recent battles were then his first, even freestyle in the shower or something

Thats a good question. But in my case if I was in a battle. I would try to be very original. And try to reach places and ideas not often reached. It would be kind of hard though. To keep it in dissing area, but at the same time bringing it someplace new.

Btw, there's no such thing as miracles. They were invented by humans.

So you need a human invented miracle - find a live cypher and join it. Listen to the battle emcees live.

LMAO, fool why is it when you're not battling you can come up with funny insults but when you battle you're insults are unoriginal? Like I'm cracking up while I'm typing this. You have to time your punchlines better so they have more punch.

even try writing in the cypher as a freestyle

also start writing songs too, songs about topics you think are interesting, when i first started writing a song, i used the dictionary quite a lot so that gave me a lot more experience with words, also when i hear a word in a hip hop song i think is interesting or a word that doesn't get used a lot in a hip hop song, i usually take note of it and think "hmm i never thought of rhyming with that word before"

There might be one around here somewhere. Btw, I go to school currently in Boston, which is FILLED with dope underground artists and some of their followers. In fact, Emerson College (not the one I go to) has a radio station that plays dope shit. Maybe I'll head over in that general direction.

Boston? Thats whassup! You gotta just look around, get in contact with battle emcees right there

But I'm already past the lyric writing part of my track so I don't know :( I guess I'll have to do more after.

I don't know if this is good advise or not but what I do usually is write lyrics for a track, and once I finish that I actually scrap its and try to challenge myself to come up with even better lyrics. But another good thing to do if you use that method is to set a deadline of when you want the track completed.

Watchers
Well, thw first thing you'll need to do is get the caked on jizz surgically removed from your tonsils :D idk what that has to do with writing, but it might help you rap rofl ;)

On a serious note though, one thing you and bacon have in common is both of you talk about other music far more often than you do hip hop. That leads me to believe that neither of you listen to very much hip hop at all. In fact, I'm willing to bet while you name off a lot of artists that you like, you've probably heard a lot less songs by those artists than most of us have. I think you listen to far more rock than hip hop. Just listen to a few different lyricists that you think are some of the best and listen to a bunch of their songs and try to mimic their rhyme pattern and style. Then move on to another emcee. After a while your style will emerge as your own composite style that will be good.

It's not that you are biased, you just listen to what you listen to. It's just that I find when I listen to a specific artist or style for a prolonged period of time, I begin to mold myself around it. I've been listening to Atmosphere lately, for example, and I have found myself writing kind of like Slug. You want to battle? Study great battlers and pay attention to what they say, how they word it, etc., and then try to do what they do your own way and eventually your own style will emerge.
