How does FL Studio suck a bag of baby dicks? It's easy to use and allows you to be more creative.

because when you produce a beat on FL with stock sounds it is almost impossible to make a beat that doesn't make people with trained ears say "you made that in FL Studio, didn't you?"

I disagree. and thats coming from a person who owns a mpc 1000.

i know plenty of people that own both FL (some that even started on FL) and MPC and they would agree with me though. i'll be honest, however, and tell you that i've never used an MPC so my personal opinion is moot until i learn how to use an MPC.

the stock sounds in Reason and Logic are just fine. i use stock sounds with those programs all the time (or did when i was making beats more often). it's only FL. whatever though. the program is just too formulaic for my taste. i want a bit more creative freedom when i'm making music. maybe i just didn't understand how to use it in a more complex fashion though. meh.

You shouldn't use stock sounds in any DWA.

The MPC is fun and everything, I love it and use it as much as I can, but honestly everything you can do on the MPC you can do in FL Studio plus more. That's because the MPC is an old piece of equipment while FL Studio 8 is pretty new. I know a producer who goes by Mr. Mike (really talented producer, worked wit ppl in major record labels and shit), he uses Ableton Live and a keyboard midi controller and would choose that over an mpc.

Well really there's nothing wrong with using stock kicks and snares. It's just when you get better you want to have a sound that's unique from other producers, so it's best to make ur own kicks and snares. That's also the reason why I try to discourage ppl from using sample packs, I admit, even I have used them in the past but I try not to.

MPC is still the best period though btw.

Yeah, I think the MPCs allow the unique touch of producers. It takes a different kind of creativity with an MPC, it's more organic production. But the sad thing is you can't download an MPC for free. :D

Quote (EmSeeD)
I_Guy, what was that program you told me to get ages ago? i never downloaded the whole thing coz my internet was low

I think I told you to try out Sonar. But I would look into Ableton also. They have a beginners program for Ableton that you could use first if you want. Then you could move up. I can give you the links if you'd like.

What's that suppose to mean? Cuz ur hitting buttons instead of clickin mouses? I already mentioned this in another thread that you can get midi controllers that are exactly like the mpc for less than half the price.

I'm not denying equivalent possibilities. I'm just saying it's more organic because an MPC requires the producer to move a little more making it more similar to actual instrument playing.

I don't have that kind of money!!!

*sigh* lol, everyone's so tied up with the mpc, it's not that of an amazing electronic. You can get a midi controller that works exactly like the MPC except it uses Fl Studio (or any DWA for that matter) instead of it's own OS for less than half the price of a mpc 1000. That is if you like that hardware or "organic" feel.
