Jimi created the style of guitar playing that everyone grew to love, and no one was able to completely duplicate it, and for that I say he deserves major recognition. He was in a sense comparable to 2pac. Both had a unique style that many tried to duplicate but never did, yet and still though, people mold their style after those two. However, others that came after Hendrix who used similar distortion techniques (Angus Young for example) were somewhat more technically advanced guitarists. I personally am a sucker for the smooth guitar playing of Carlos Santana myself (unfortunately he's a bit of a sellout). My dad is a Stevie Ray Vaughn fan and my best friend likes Angus Young.

Pat Metheny

NICE! another jazz fan! his Weather Report band member and bass player Jaco Pastorius was always a better musician than he was though. dude is like a GOD on the bass! he's easily the greatest bassist of all time. you know what's crazy too? Jaco and Hendrix were just about to start working on an album before they died!!!!!!!!

Flamenco is the SHIT and it would be NOTHING without Segovia!!!!!
