at least in rock music DRUMMERS really matter and i personally can't pin point to one i have tons of fav drummers some are for example : Neil Peart , Keith Moon , John Bonham , Nicko Mcbrain

Yeah and when you listen to enough rock, you start to realize that each drummer has their own specialities.
one I can think of off the top of my head is Tre Cool. He has some crazy fast songs and can keep up, and at the same time add little fills, and on top of that sing backup or even lead vocals. He's not the best drummer ever, but he definitley has skill.
