Digging In The Tapes # 1...This That Ish Volume 1 (1995)
Image and video hosting by TinyPic

I got back a fat box of my old school tapes (you know those plastic things with 2 holes and reels of tape that wound around lol) and I got so many great memories from going through the first box and I decided to give away as much as I could to give my children, new homes and a new lease on life, amongst all of the tapes were some dope compilations, 2 from 1995, 1 from 1997 and 1 from 1998 (there were many others, but they didn't have track lists and I don't have a tape deck at the moment) so I decided to do the ones that had track listings and do them up and post them here, I hope you enjoy them as much as I did back in the days and today.

MANIFESTO - by Sai, Aim Anthem (Join The Street Team)

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Dedicated to all aim members. The Anti-Injustice Movement (aka The AIM) our affiliates and a proud member myself, is a global movement of activists, political emcees and protest poets who are fighting together to achieve the slow but steady destruction of global injustice. We struggle via non-violent and creative means against injustices perpetrated by corrupt governments, political and fundamentalist factions of organized religion, and corporate vampires. To do this we utilize the five elements of hip-hop (knowlege being the fifth), protest poetry, and grassroots campaigning as a means of awarenes raising and political revolt. We are against Western Militarism, Political Islam, and Zionism in equal measure and will combat them all because we refuse to choose between three evils. Join the movement, support@@@

The Art Of Freestyle With Xidus Pain

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

A message from conrade, brent lee regan.

Yes friends, what a treat I have here for all you Hip Hop heads...

In these tumultuous times that we live, there is an epidemic rising... the evidence is on practically every rapper's video blog and acapella on youtube... it's on almost every radio interview... it even happens in front of the unsuspecting public at Hip Hop shows across the globe... and it must stop!

What am I talking about? The written freestyle...

Yes, a written... freestyle... Look, if you can't freestyle then don't, okay? Hip Hop's about being real so just admit it, it's fine... I can't do it, so I don't!

But here is a man who can... Xidus Pain. Check out this new series of videos entitled The Art Of Freestyle and witness the true essence of a Freestyle!

Getting his first taste of hip hop coming up as a DJ / Graffiti writer in the Stalingrad twinned Coventry City, UK. Ricta studied the local scene intently, his focus turned from DJ’ing to Rapping at around 16 years of age, since then he has been hard at work both on the live circuit and in the studio.

Bringing an array of both self and guest-produced tracks Ricta is set to prove that boom bap beats are here to stay, combined with his distinctive voice and intelligent lyrics a winning formula is undeniably here, forget gangsterism’s and forced punch lines this is straight up, no gimmicks Hip Hop.

Ricta also boasts an energetic live show and is often joined on stage by fellow label mate Idyllic, over recent years they have supported acts like… KRS-ONE, Akala, Kano, Ugly Duckling, Tinie Tempah, Plan B, Blackalicious, Wiley, Jaguar Skills, Rodney P & Skitz, Example & Many More. Be prepared for raw energy, crowd interaction and a well crafted, Hip Hop perfected performance.

In April 2010 Ricta released his first single ‘Rock Caps’ which was extremely well received and was consequently licensed for use on a BBC Television Programme, as well as receiving radio air-play. Followed by the release of the Expocate EP this July which features US rapper Rebel UN and Czech producer Drepo plans are already in motion for the next project which will include further international collaborations, this is only the beginning yet already Ricta has carved his own niche right into the side of the UK music.
