i'm about 15 pages in and I can't get hooked. And at the time it was written, I can see why this book was so revolutionary. Telescreens and constant survelliance and all. But I honestly am not intrigued whatsoever by any of those concepts (totaltarianism, martial law, constant survelliance) because I feel like i've heard this before and it's sort of coming to be in America in a sense. It just isn't interesting to me. I wish it was but it isnt.

Quote (I_Guy) That's why you believe in the bible I actually lol'd. Sodr, seriously though. Even if you don't agree with science, or history, or whatever it is your reading (non-fiction wise), it is still worth reading just so you can say that you listened to their arguement.

souls of black folk, 100 bullets, and about to start some crime noir novels that DC vertigo are publishing. Also want to read bio of Malcolm X but hearing bad things about it because of Alex Haley working for the Gov. and withholding chapters the Malcolm wanted in the original pressing.

Athanasius Kircher's Theater of the World-J Godwin. Quote (abanks47) Also want to read bio of Malcolm X but hearing bad things about it because of Alex Haley working for the Gov. and withholding chapters the Malcolm wanted in the original pressing. All the more reason to read it and make your own mind up....check out the Death and Life of Malcolm X also. Nazis say Hitler is misrepresented by history and some believe that and don't investigate further. Like some Neo-Liberals even saying he was Socialist...just like Obama..LMAO! Besides the fact he blamed the left for unpatriotically scuppering Luddendorfs war on the rest of Europe. Read Mien Kampf though and you will have no doubt whatsoever that he was a raving rambling lunatic. Infact some of the best info i got on how fucked up the higher echelons of National Socialism were was from revisionist historians. Never let someone put you off reading a book, use your own mind and draw your own conclusions. Quote (sodr2) Hercules' horse Nah that would be Perseus, Pegasus arose from the blood of the slain Gorgon sister Medusa. Quote (8Diagrams) Hercules took a LOT of halucniogens, dude. On top of the 'Roids?

Neo Libralism, Conservative Right all sounds like the same gang to me when it comes down to economics. The market rule — freedom for capital, goods and services, where the market is self-regulating allowing the “trickle down” notion of wealth distribution.Trickle being the key word. Deunionizing of labour forces and removals of any obsticals to capital mobility, such as regulations. Freedom is from the state, or government. Reducing public expenditure by the government for social services, health and education. Allowing market forces to act as a self-regulating mechanism Privatization of public enterprise (things from water to even the internet) Changing perceptions of public and community good to individualism and individual responsibility. Yes no mabey?
