gimme the doom from operation doomsday, mf grimm and MIC and im in hip hop heaven biggrin

but yeah erik i get you, im much more of a new school person i dont bump golden age stuff that much but i gotta say i actualy like it when an album sounds dated, not like 80's shit but like op doomsday for me sounds like underground grimey NY of the 90s, i know it was 99 but still dope

heres my review

Flow: 80%
Lyrics: 90%
Production: 90%
X-Factor: 80%
Overall: 85%

MF Doom is definately a character in Hip Hop, without a question, and this CD reflects him in a way...The production is more BOOM BAP, instead of his 80's R&B sample approach we have seen in recent efforts, but this album seals the deal. Tho guest Apperance r few in this release, the tracks which have guess shine in the best light possible. Raekwon drops a dope verse in Yessir! and Tony Sparks and Empress Sharhh and Kurious all step up and leave memorable performances.

The track that stands out the most was, like Erik said, Batty Boyz
He goes and raps about gay people in the most hilarious manner

This is definately a new and improved MF Doom

go check it out

"NY State of Mind" and "Represent" are two tracks that are exceptions. Those two are some of the best on the album and they transcend the 90's for me. It's tracks like "Life's A Bitch," and "Memory Lane" that sound dated, even though "Memory Lane" sounds dated in a good way. Like I said, I like the album, I just don't put it on a pedestal like everyone else does.

Lol!

And Meth, I wouldn't call Batty Boyz the highlight. I preferred "Cellz" and "That's That" and also that one with the Lord Acton quote for the chorus: "absolute power corrupts absolutely."
