Kanye's legacy is already ingrained. Of course Nicki Minaj is gonna be successful..most females MCs who breakthrough and gain as much attention as her always stay successful. I see her creating her own brand and become a mogul like Jay-Z. She's incredibly marketable for that. I just cant wait for her fake-butt to be finally confirmed lol

Don't compare her with Jay Z.

Jay Z is the one of the most successful mc's, no not mc's, successful musicians in the whole world, i admit it.

But we all know that he doesn't have amazing rhyme skills like Eminem, like Twista.

He has some standarts of music quality and creativity and he makes good songs to listen. He has a nice voice that fits well to r&b and rap.

So he is very successful and has very unforgettable songs in his past- a of course he is a mogul too :).

I think the difference that Nicki has is this: no one would finish jay Z, but a bad producer would kill Nicki's music carrier - but she has the skills and the potential that Jay Z doesn't have. I drawed your attention to this point. If she prepares her albums wit a dope producer, she would be the queen of rhymes. She has that potential! Otherwise we forget her name in a year.

Have you heard her verse on that "monster" song?

yes, and it sucks just like all of her other verses. and its actually, sadly to say, better than most of her verses.

Jay-Z hasn't has been up and down since before Reasonable Doubt. his music has only been hit-and-miss ever since he started dropping albums. still as a musician and as an emcee (yes he's an emcee) he is leaps and bounds ahead of Nicki Minaj's category. he's a businessman though at this point, not a hip hop artist. every single one of his verses nowadays makes me feel like it's for promotional purposes in some way lol.

Twista??!?!?!?!?!?! i agree with you on Eminem, but since when has Twista ever been in the category of legendary lyricists???????? he raps fast. that's about it.

dude, are you sure you joined the right website???? you do know this is REAL hip hop forever, right? this isn't real rap talk or SOG crew's website, this is a site for people who are into the true hip hop culture. the underground, street aspect of hip hop lives through us. people like Nicki Minaj are usually laughed at by us. Kanye is kind of borderline for us but he gets a pass here because this album at least returns somewhat to his roots.

as for Nicki, i'd rather admit that Lil Wayne is the greatest emcee of all time than listen to a Nicki Minaj album, and the people here that know me know how painful that would be to admit.

eboyd,

I didnt called Twista as a legendary lyricist of course. But the skills that he has cannot be explained as just "fast". So I mentioned the flow and the mathematics of his rhymes. Of course i know Twista is not an Eminem, but a rapper on the corner of the street cannot do the same rap as him, right? So I call this a talent.

We both know that overground and underground raps are different conceptions. I'm here because i listen underground rap more and I'm with the people who think underground rap is the "soul" of our music. I share the new underground lp's news, talk about them and discuss them. I enjoy it because i don't just listen rap, i feel rap.

When i listen music, i spare %90 of my time for underground rap. But when i listen overground tracks, i decipher them differently. The point that you are wrong is if a emcee is making so many commercials that means he or she is only a child of mtv culture. That is a false opinion. I liked Nicki because the people who dont listen rap would be listen her because she is on tv, and they would listen some dope rhymes, good lyrics. Compare her with soulja boy etc. an you'll understand what im really talkin 'bout. She has some talent.

Accept her as an overground rapper. Don't expect her to make streets' music. She is doing business and she makes money. But, Eminem does this too, doesn't he? We cant just sit and say "this is real hiphop, this is not, this is half a real hiphop, this is..ehm.."

By the way, f*ck lil wayne:).

WTF are you guys talking about? That Nicki Minaj verse is unbearable to listen to. Tis song "Monster" that all of you are raving about is not even a good song. You guys are just all hyped up to get a new album and you want to love it. Yall are crazy. If youre saying that Monster is one of the best songs on this album, then i may shouldn't even waster my time listening to the other songs.

You're right about that, however Eminem hasn't been dropping anything I'd waste my time listening to for years now.

Yeah you r right , this song is crap. :) Have i said f-ck Lil Wayne before? :) I don't listen this kind of a music. None of us call it as "rap music". This is some kind of a fuckin club music that includes some cheap rap verses in it. But i won't judge her by only that terrible verse. As i said before, i believe she has a talent and would do better on a real rap beat, with a real rap music producer and without that autotune shit.

How the hell did Nicki Minaj get into this conversation? Lol
I could've sworn we were just talking about Kanye's beats.....

Oh and Barut lol this tends to happen when new members voice their opinions lol dont be shocked. This is basically an Underground Purist website. I'm probably the only member who openly listens to both underground (Pharoahe Monch, Shad, Canibus, Black Milk) and mainstream (Eminem, Jay-Z, Kanye, Drake, etc. MCs of that caliber) Everybody will lay off of u after u've been around for a while lol

"pink wig thick ass give em whip lash
I think big get cash make em blink fast
now look at what you just saw I think this is what you live for
aaaahhh, I'm a muthaf-cking monster!"

this part includes many different rhyme techniques which is almost the same on this example:

"I sit back with this pack of zigzags
And this bag of this weed
It gives me the shit needed to be
The most meanest emcee.."
