Quote (11thPlague) Liquid Swords over Illmatic anyday. Lyrics are better Beats are WAY better Truth. I vote Liquid Swords, The Gza. Looks like it's a tie. I don't see why this has to be an immature discussion though.. Dissing A.Z. because he helped Nas with Illmatic (A.Z. is OK, he's not bad). Whether Wu helped Gza with his album or not Liquid Swords is a classic but so is Illmatic. I liked the lyrical content / beats better on LS but Illmatic is still good don't get me wrong. How ever the part about 'more people liking Nas so that's the truth' was ridiculous. A lot of people think Rakim is the best, a lot of people think Tupac is the best, a lot of people think Biggie is the best, a lot of people think Lil Wayne (idiots though, it's not a matter of opinion on this one it's idiocy). It's all about what you like.

Quote (eboyd) This is a bit late, but whatever... Actually Meth, GZA's been rapping since 1976 when he was 10, but why does that matter? He didn't release anything. I guarantee Nas had been rapping without recording any of it for at least 10 years before dropping Illmatic. Besides, I've heard dudes with 15+ years experience RECORDING and still suck on the mic (*cough* Phat Kat), so what does age have to do with it? LMAO who the fuck is phat kat?! Well with a mind like GZA its just logic that he has experience and knowledge from all those years of rappin but true age has nothing to do with anything

Quote (Lord_Meth) fuckin AZ...whos he again?! ^^^most ignorant comment ever!!!!^^^ Added (29/Jan/09, 9:53 Am) --------------------------------------------- Come on.... All you Gza voters know damn well Nas takes this one..... Okay, Lyrically it was close, but Nas was better... Beats, Nas takes it again cuz we all love that "golden age" feel, in which Illmatic is the epitome of that....and to top it all off, ILLMATIC was fuckin' ground breaking, opened so many doors and made EVERYONE including WU step their fuckin' game up and also had people shook, like "aw shit...now I gotta try and top THAT?!?!" Easy vote for Me... Illmatic!!!

LS was better to me, as I previously stated. We'll leave it at that. Illmatic was dope, just not my cup of tea. I'm not a huge Nas fan. btw, Ill, I wouldn't go as far as saying Phat Kat is the shittiest rapper ever. Meth, Phat Kat was the guy who basically put J Dilla on. He would get on Dilla's beats and he was sort of like Lil Dap; only known because he was busting over legendary music, though he's a bit less than adequate himself. Go listen to "Cold Steel" by Phat Kat, produced by Jay Dee and listen once just to the beat to get a feel for how classic it is, then listen to the lyrics to hear how disappointing he is. He actually stepped it up a bit lyrically there but he's still pretty pathetic. His flow is definitely nice though, at least on that track. Oh, have you heard Elzhi's "The Preface"? He was featured on one of the tracks on that joint.

I said he sucks as a rapper, but to call him the worst EVER is a far cry from the truth. Remember, Soulja Boy exists. If you were to say the worst MC, maybe, but that is like saying the worst premium beef. It's still premium beef, no matter how bad it is for premium (of course it could be rotten. Maybe Phat Kat is rotten premium beef. Lol!)
