Okay....not that most of you might care, but..I figured out why soooo many people like Cucci Man and OJ the Douche and those other hood trend rappers......
People like stuff they have a personal connection with..something that speaks to them personally
I actually just started noticing this TODAY
I wrote this rap and I was preforming it in front of my cousin and it was about me just venting out all my anger and everything I was mad at and he LOVED it, then I rapped one of my lyrical rhymes and he didnt like it because it didnt SPEAK to him, then I asked him why do he like the commercial stuff and he told me most people now like stuff they can connect to and he actually made sense!!
Jeezy talks about wats its like in the hood
Rakim talks about writing raps in his lonesome and jacks off to porn to over come brain freeze (joke)
but u see were Im getting at
Not only trend rappers but alot of people like Eminem because he bares his feelings and ALOT of people can relate to how he feels
Does Canibus bitch about anything in life...?
Maybe we need more Hip Hop heads to get on a level with their audience about stuff that might express their feelings

idk this is just me rambling

LMAO yea he even told me it doesnt have to be the most lyrical thing as long as he can relae to it and vibe from it cuz its real
I was shocked cuz he right LMAO
I always thought Hip Hop was missing lyrics but it was missing a connection with its audience am I right?

there are so many lyrical rappers that talk about real shit...

Word. If someone tells me that he listens to Wayne because he can relate to him though then I'll pimp slap him. I don't buy that people can relate to that shit.. There's SO many rappers who talk about 'life in the hood' and all that shit. However Tupac is my number one emcee as I can relate to a lot of his stuff and I'll assume the same goes for most of Pac's fans but man.. What is there to relate to in Lil Wayne's/Jeezy's rhymes? They're so incredibly whack/corny and ugh.. The majority of their fanbase is 13 year old chicks, maybe older and same goes for some boys unfortunately.. I've walked past some idiots (almost grown men) listening to Lil Wayne's Lollipop.. 'Yeah man, I can relate to Lollipop because..'

LOL - ya, cuz the millions of suburban kids and rich white girls that bought his album can really relate to the hood struggle wacko ..... naw, most people that buy this music like the beats and enjoy dancing and shit. Also, it's very easy to sing along to........ I'll admit that some of their fanbase like them cuz they can relate but most of their sales go to people that have NO idea about the lives they live........
I see what ur saying tho, cuz a lot of the music i like, i enjoy cuz i can relate. But some i like just for the beats and shit

RADIO , Publicity and so on in the 90's Jeru The Damaja's Can't Stop The Prophet stayed on number 1 top 100 billboard for a few months i think and the album was NOT party rap or even made for partying man the PROBLEM IS HERE most people don't understand CAPITALIST BUSINESS in capitalist business is something called "supply and demand" the producers supply it and the clients demand it it's not the other way around people in general will always find excuses but they fall for that music as we all fall for Mcdonalds and other unhealthy food because Mcdonalds is pretty cheap and easy and quick to get exact like most commercial music now days
