I think we all do that. Some of my favorite hip hop is mainstream. It just so happens that 90% of mainstream hip hop fucking sucks and the underground is much larger than the mainstream so even though there is a large percentage of underground that is wack too (emulates mainstream) there are also a lot of dope cats because of the large amount. So I'd say that 60% of underground hip hop is wack, but underground artists outnumber mainstream by about 10 times and so if we do the math we see that if we assume there are 100 mainstream artists that means there are 1000 or so underground (unrealistic numbers. Probably much higher) and out of mainstream (as in currently still making commercial airwaves during peak hours) there are only 10 dudes doing it that are actually good but out of underground cats there are 400 that are good. That's a whole lot more. So why should I be completely balanced when the ratio of good artists on the underground to good artists on mainstream is 40 to 1? Those numbers, though maybe slightly exaggerated, are pretty realistic and also astronomical. So why should I be balanced? Being balanced is stupid. I don't tolerate wackness. Being balanced required tolerating wackness. Why should I? I have an EXTREMELY high standard for art. Is there any reason I shouldn't? To be a well-known artist a person should be elite. Why should I like something that is less than the best in the name of "being balanced"?

I wouldn't want to tolerate ANY shit...especially yours and the mainstreams
