Quote (8Diagrams) Quote (Joker13) LMAOOOOOOOOO! sorry im thinking of 96 then It Was Written, Uncontrolled Substance, The Don Killuminati, Reasonable Doubt, etc. All Eyez On Me, Blackstreet - Another Level Quote (Uncharted) i heard 1997 was the worst Life After Death, Black Star, The 18th Letter however it was the rise of Diddy, probably some other wack dudes and a bunch of shitty R&B songs, i remember this dude "Papa Bear" had this huge hit song but then never had another hit it was called "Cherish The Love", there was also "Missing You" from diddy. it was a big year for Pop/R&B songs, the rise of Backstreet Boys.

Best: Quote (Lord_Meth) Perseverance One of the worst (in terms of real hip hop that is. i'd say it's slightly ahead of "Relapse"): Quote (Lord_Meth) Untitled the worst though, by far, talking albums that dropped in the 2000's period, was "souljaboytellem.com" Quote (Lord_Meth) Uncontrolled Substance i've been meaning to check that. people talk shit on INS all the time saying he can't hold his own on a solo album, but then i hear a select few tell me this is one of the most underrated albums of all time. dude, please up it on realhiphopforever.blogspot.com. i want to check it out. Deck is in my top 10 favorite emcees. Quote (ilikebacon3000) To be honest, I have listened to VERY little hiphop from this decade. Besides Eminem, Tupac and Biggies post-humous collections (which are usually complete shit thanks to shitty producing), and a little bit of ICP, most of the hiphop I listen to is from 1992-1998. 1995 was prime, no doubt. Best year in hiphop when it comes to how many hits were in 1995,1996. Actually not how many hits, just the quality of the hits. In fact right now I'm listening to "To Live and die in L.A." and the rest of the 7 day theory. dude, really, you come on here and try to talk about this stuff and it's great, but we suggest TONS of underground albums and artists that are DOPE and you NEVER listen. check out a few albums that have been recommended and i GUARANTEE you'll change your mind. some albums i'll guarantee now (based on what you listen to): artists: Planet Asia Defari Visionaries Crooked I (you probably already know though) Self Scientific RA The Rugged Man Blu Brother Ali The Coup some albums: DJ Muggs & Planet Asia - "Pain Language" Self Scientific - "The Self Science" RA The Rugged Man - "Die, Rugged Man, Die" Blu & Exile - "Below The Heavens" Brother Ali - "The Undisputed Truth" The Coup - "Steal This Album" and if you are down for some experimentation, check out Cannibal Ox - "The Cold Vein" but idk if you would be able to get into that just yet, however, seeing as you are pretty eclectic when it comes to music, you may enjoy it and from there i have a plethora of other experimental hip hop albums for you to check. Quote (ill) there arent many albums that really stand out looking back WHAT????!?!?!? dude: "Deltron 3030" "MM.... Food" "Madvillainy" "Donuts" "Take Me To Your Leader" "The Game Theory" "Perseverance" "A Tiger Dancing" (don't sleep on this) "Steal This Album" "Fishscale" "Beauty and the Beat" "The Ecstatic" "The Undisputed Truth" "The Preface" "Shapeshifters" "LWFC" "Be" "I'll Sleep When You're Dead" "The Cold Vein" "Labor Days" "None Shall Pass" "College Dropout" and i could go on for days. Quote (ill) half of those i dont even listen too yeah, you have to take Meth's list with a grain of salt. he has a very low standard for art.

Quote (eboyd) and i could go on for days nah serious for me a classic is an album where most of the songs are exceptional, even most of them on your list i wouldnt list as classics. cold vein, mm food, college dropout? theyre good albums but i would never put them up there with illmatic & madvillainy. its just opinion but i reckon your using classic to easy, each to their own tho

I didn't say all those were classic. Those were all good albums that are noteworthy for the post-2000 era. And dude, "Deltron 3030", "The Game Theory", "Donuts", and "Steal This Album" may not be as good as "Madvillainy" or especially "Illmatic", but that's setting a really high standard. That's like saying "well, Sarah Vaughn wasn't as good as Ella Fitzgerald, so she was no where near a legend." Dude, continuing that analogy, Ella Fitzgerald has pretty much the greatest voice in the history of music, so of course Sarah Vaughn isn't quite as good, but she's still top 10 all time (at least Jazz wise). All four of those albums are classic, whether or not they compare to those you mentioned or not and "Cold Vein" is just below them. And notice, you had to throw in an album that came out in 2004 AND was on my list. Why? Because it was one of the greatest albums of all time in hip hop and that is undeniable (unless you talk to Joker lol!).

Yeah, np. I'm just saying, I hear a lot of people act like hip hop isn't as good today as it was in the 90's but it is, at the least, very close and people who complain about "hip hop is dead," I was cool with that at first, but when it became a trend I always frown on those cats because they obviously haven't done the knowledge on the underground yet. There is some GREAT music as long as you take the time to look. That's the one thing that pisses me off about Bacon. I have no beef with him, but if you talk about "the years after the 90's were wack" and haven't even taken the time to listen to underground hip hop, your argument holds no merit. If you have listened and you still don't like it, fine, but at least make an effort, feel me?

WHAT????!?!?!? That album is fucking classic, end of story. He wasn't trying to be super lyrical and he usually isn't. I figured you'd love it with all the sex references lol! The album has me cracking up the whole way through every time, especially the track "Halfsharkalligator" LMFAO! And if the gripe you have is with his flow, that's Keith man. He does off beat on purpose. He's always done it and been the best at it. Listen to "Critical Beatdown" (Ultramagnetic MC's) if you don't believe me. And "Blue Flowers" and "3000" are simply two of the greatest hip hop tracks ever. That is undeniable.

But I was yawning while listening to his lazy rappin style, Evidence has charisma like Twista next to Keith. LOL
