Yes i am from Aus, no one generally uses it (racist idiots generally use coon or some other stupid word), most of the indigenous peoples use the word cousin cuz or bro and the islanders use bro (although some do use nigga), as they each have their own particular slang. white australians still harbor alot of unnecessary racial stereotyping and views towards indigenous people, islanders and other ethnics and they are the brunt of alot of jokes (mostly the indigenous but pretty much every other ethnic group cop it) you could view it as light hearted, but still its a joke paying out on the particular group, remember the cronulla race riots that happened a few years ago where all these "aussie pride" wankers rolled around beating up lebanese people and other ethnics. in the long run we all have noses, eyes, internal organs etc. No need to apologize, i wouldnt know the full social situation in america and it would be a very new and exciting experience to go to america.

Are you really suggesting i let go of the past? How does one do that? I find it difficult if not impossible to not think of my ancestors and not get somewhat annoyed or emotional at how shit went down. one part of that being the name given to them, which was nigger. The only form of comparrision i can give is if I came up to you and insulted your family, i would imagine you being offended. it was only words but you'd still be offended from what i said would you not, because the words used were offensive and aimed towards your people. same with nigger in my book.
