seriously, em and nas are probably the most consistent "mainstream" rappers today in terms of success, but i dont care about eminem anymore, and nas is getting there. If it wasnt for the played Gay-Z beef and the following their "makeout", Nas wouldnt be where he is today, and Eminem still rides the mainstream wave like Kelly Slater, regardless of being fucked up on drugs or not. As for who i think is better, i dont really care. They really arent the same sort of MC. The thing with Nas that really annoys me is that he rides this "Secret Knowledge" shit whilst barely elaborating. And Em well hes Em, i use to listen to him but moved on. Both can be dope when they want to, but regardless they got their eyes on the easy money, so that takes preference to the "rea". Too bad KRS-One is close to being locked up in a mental asylum. *sigh*

Quote (ThaScience) im not mad lol, its just most rappers from the 90s golden age dont repeat the sound and culture that was happenin in the 90s. masta ace is a good example of the other hand but it rarly happens.. its like if wu fans think rza is gonna make beats like glaciers of ice or cold world or cream again.. well, u know.. duhhh. same with illmatic/it was written and em with sslp/mmlp i don't expect them to. i'm not talking about the sound. not even Masta Ace sounds the same now as in the 80's and 90's. in fact, there's like 3 different Aces. there's Masta Ace from the 80's, who basically played background to BDK and G Rap and was on some smooth flow 80's shit, there's 90's Ace where he blossomed into a solo emcee in his own right, then there's 2000's Ace which was pretty much a complete transformation. i'm not talking about artists not evolving. that is a part of the creative process that happens naturally. i'm talking about making music that exceeds the dopeness of their earliest work. though there are examples of tracks that get close, Nas has yet to exceed the dopeness of "Illmatic" lol.

here's how i see it eminem beats nas in being more lyrical nas beats eminem with better and deeper topics for his songs not saying Nas isn't lyrical and i'm not saying Eminem doesn't rap about deep or good topics,

IMHO/ nas in 98 was his most creative when he was putting together a potenitally 3rd classic album in a row. fets/belly button window blaze a 50 poppa was a playa project windows og nas is like undying love.. dies as esco amongst kings... comes bk as nastradamus. etc this album wouda been better then illmatic imo. he had the right mainstream (not commercial, theres a diff) popularity after if u ruled the world. i mean to this day IWW and I Am r his 2 best sold albums. but if album no. 3 wouda come off right.. it wouda been btr then illmaic easily.. shit was like a story like no other. alot of ppl agree wit this. and alot of ppl say iww is btr then illmatic. not everyone thinks ill is his best wrk. just most ppl. its all opinions at the end of the day

Quote (EmSeeD) is this supposed to be the double disc album that never came out? the second one yes, they are 10 songs that didn't make it. 1/3 of the lost tapes was from this album, 1/3 from stillmatic, 1/3 was new. the first 8 songs, were from 96-97. I put what album they are unreleased from right next to it. with second coming being possibly recorded in 00, if not 99. so who downloaded this, and what do u think?

Stillmatic is classic from the beginning to the end. That makes 3 or 4 Classic albums for NaS. (If you consider God son Classic)
