Quote (ThaScience) his second album was the biggest flop in history but none talks about it yet quick to brings up nastradamus lol, which as a big nas fan anoys me lol. have u seen the video for sunshine? I agreed with everything you said besides this. Your absolutely right about "Sunshine" because that song sucked something bad & so did "I Know What Girls Like" but your forgetting about tracks like "Who You Wit", "Imanginary Player", "Streets Is Watching", "Friend or Foe '98". Heck I could go on & on. Had it not been for those two awful songs I just mentioned, I actually think "In My Lifetime Vol. 1" could had the potential to be a classic IMO.
Only god can judge me.

Quote (Lord_Meth) Wont this thread die already?? bump for a page 6 one of u ^^ wanted a hip hop thread that gets more views/responses then the hot girls thread. did i not provide u this? lmao anyway, black album was the only classic jay has, u can rly only rate an album a classic if u lived in that era and had a sense of how other ppl and urself thought about it, talkin about it all day, the cultures response (hip hop) etc. unless its some 90s shit cos lets be honest, most of us were still goin to bed at 8pm and watching cartoon netwrok at the time of illmatic and cuban linx were actually out i dont think bp was a classic either.

Christ both Nas and Eminem are dope as fuck lol Its just when u make claims that Nas is the most consistent rapper of all-time and that every song he has ever done was the best song ever....is some jock riding shit..and being biased and totally close minded is so biased. Damn we not saying Nas aint hard but dont overrate him like he's the messiah of Hip Hop

Quote (ThaScience) ^ but he is the best thing since hip hop started and the most consistent imo. he's your favorite emcee. fine. most definitely not the most consistent by a long shot though. like i said, KRS and Masta Ace are more consistent, and even that doesn't constitute those artists being my favorite. i put Percee P at #1 and Rakim at #2. KRS comes in at 3 though. and i still don't ride on any of them like they're infallible. Perce doesn't have enough material to have dropped a wack album (Perseverance is his only album and it was dope but not the best album ever) and Rakim's last three efforts have been dope, decent and subpar (in that order, from earliest to latest). finally, KRS has been more consistent than anyone else imo, though i can even admit that "Hip Hop Lives" was subpar. idk of any wack albums he's dropped though and he has a discography over 10 deep.

Nas or Eminem arent all that consistent , they should be compared like snoop said, two different emcees with two different subject matters. The most consistent imo is Black Thought, fuck everybody else

Nas ain't even my fav mc and illmatic isn't my fav album nor it was written. I just don't see eminem as a good rapper at all. He has some of the worst songs that has ever. These songs reach such a corny and stupid level that no nas song reaches at all.

What would people on here say is Nas & Eminem's best song ever? I know my favorite Eminem song is "Stan" by far & for Nas, I'd have to say "One Love". If Eminem would & had ALWAYS make songs like "Stan" then for me it would be Eminem > Nas because I do think "Stan" is better than any song Nas has ever did. Problem is Eminem also make some corny ass songs too & relied on being a "shock value" MC too much.
Only god can judge me.

Quote (Adam) Best song from nas is take it in blood. Def one of the best, my fav is Purple. Even though Nas is the One artist I find it impossible to make a top 20 playlist for my ipod. I can only do a top 40 just about lol. Have u heard Take it on blood 2, think I posted it a few pgs back. Ive been looking for a CDQ of that for years..
