nas does mostly either conscious shit like one love, if i ruled the word, one mic, i can, get down, just a moment, cant forget about u, hero, these are positive songs with a real message in the lyrics. and the hood shit like on illmatic, street dreams, nas is like, got urself a gun, made u look, thiefs theme, put these singles next to the ones Adam posted.. feminiems best single was for a movie, lose urself. the rest of his singles suck, and so does most of the albums. no reply value.

LOL you need to read my post again fam. I actually said Nas WAS the better MC but even as a Nas fan, I can admit when he makes duds & that his career has been inconsistent because it has. & what I said about Nas picking bad beats is just a fact & a lot of people on here would agree with me on this. Even when he works with some of the greats (outside of producers like DJ Premier), they'll give him their B to C grade beats at best most times. Nas best produced albums IMO was his first two albums & "Hip-Hop Is Dead", which is an above average album but the production was pretty good.

i start "Nas bashing" (lol that shit is funny. makes it sound like Nas is some fragile person who can't handle his own business) because i could care less about Eminem. even if Eminem sounded like Soulja Boy, Nas' beat selection would still suck. i never said Eminem's beat selection was any better. they are both on par with each other and i've stated this multiple times. i simply prefer Eminem because his lyrics are a bit more groundbreaking to me. no one before Eminem was daring enough to say shit like this:

lol dude, let's leave late albums out of this type of talk, seriously. it's hilarious too because you pick one of the two good songs off of "Untitled" like it means something. yeah, he was all conscious on "Untitled", but being conscious doesn't equate to dope. Eminem is a great example of this. all of his conscious tracks except "Stan", which i didn't like before but it actually grew on me, "Way I Am", and "Lose Yourself" are corny as fuck ("Mockingbird", "Toy Soldiers", etc.). both released wack shit with their last drops.

"Hero" was corny as fuck, "Make The World Go Round" was corny, all his recent features on hit tracks were corny (Young Jeezy - "My President is Black" stands out most in my mind), etc. no doubt though, Eminem's singles are corny as fuck.

that's because they're dumb. i don't stop listening to an artist because of 1 dumb ass track. if i did, i wouldn't listen to half of my favorite emcees anymore, including Nas.

Untitled had beat selection as bad if not worse than "Nastradamus" on the exception of "QGTM", "Fried Chicken" and "Sly Fox", and let's not forget, even "Nastradamus" had a couple of dope beats.

they both make shitty music on occasion, whether it's a shitty single they did themselves or a shitty single they featured in. that doesn't matter to me though. i ignore their shitty music while still recognizing that they do make music that sucks on occasion. i just think Em's dope music is slightly better than Nas'. there's no problem with me making such a statement.

idgaf about AZ and Jay. Jay is borderline wack to me because i haven't liked any of his work since his early days working with Big L, Biggie, and doing that track "Show & Prove" with BDK (and that includes "Reasonable Doubt". shit is the most overhyped album ever. i will say that Jay does have his moments though) and AZ is one of the most inconsistent dope emcees of all time. Nas, for his status, is way more inconsistent than anyone else. Masta Ace, KRS, Ghostface, etc. are all far more consistent than Nas, and even they have less than classic albums, but they don't release shit like Untitled, Natradamus, I Am..., etc. on as regular a basis as Nas does.

VOL 2 was ok.. just ok. Black album classic, blueprint was good, american gangsta was good.

Outside the comment on Jay because I am a fan (well not much these days but at least of his older work), I agree with this. Ghostface actually IMO has just as many classics as Nas does for me ("Ironman" & "Supreme Clientele" are classic IMO).

i can pretty much agree with all of this. idk if i can say "Black Album" was a classic but then again i haven't heard it. Blueprint and American Gangster, i can agree, were dope though.
