And now this. I won't say this album was garbage, but it definitely wasn't anything close to amazing let alone the best thing to come out in 2011.
And Adam, I'm not saying The Family Sign or Hot Sauce Committee Part 2 are amazing albums either, but both are superior to Cole World.

I still listen to Untitled and of course Dark Fantasy. Both of those albums were very influential to me.

808's and heartbreaks was really cool and the videos were very creative... I like kanye for that at least.

What I Like About It:
The second half of the album is definitely WAYYYYY better than the first half of the album, the first half of the album has some shitty songs, but i was really digging the second half of the album, if the whole album was like that this could have been a sick as album, the production especially stepped up in the second half. J. Cole isn't the greatest rapper, but he is a decent rapper and brought some good songs on here, honestly if you were to just cut off the first half of the album and only give me the second half and say that was the whole album, i would be saying it was dope
favourite songs: Nobody's Perfect (best song imo), Never Told, Rise and Shine, Sideline Story, Lights Please, Breakdown
What I Don't Like About It:
I think its a major over statement saying this is the best album from the past two years, the past two years have been shit for hip hop, but you can still find better albums, and i was holding big expectations for this guy two years ago, i remember saying on this forum how great it was a rapper with good lyrics was making it in the mainstream, this isn't the worst album to come out though, and J. Cole is a decent rapper, I'd give this album a 3/5. The album was just a bit ruined by the obvious cheap gimmicks J. Cole uses, like making a song a bout a damn watch, In the Morning, Cole World these just sound like some cheap ass gimmicks, hate to repeat myself but i gotta say it again, J. Cole is a decent rapper but there are too many gimmick songs
Worst Songs:
Mr. Nice Watch, Can't Get Enough, In The Morning,
Work Out had an ok beat but i hate the fact that it used the chorus/hook/catchiestpartofthesong off a famous 80's song, thats the weakest cheapest lamest most unoriginal desperate for a hit single gimmick, in all of rap
overall it gets a 3/5, maybe a 3.5/5

I agree that Mr. Nice Watch and In The morning suck. I kinda like Can't Get Enough tho, he's got a catchy flow on it IMO.

Haha I loved In the Morning. That used to be one of my favorite songs back when Friday Night Lights came out. The beat was soooo saucy.
And I agree, Im not a fan of Mr. Nice. Watch. The breakdown in the chorus was sick tho with the guitar solo.

i only went through it once so it might change, but those were ok songs for me, not my fave but also not the worst. On the first listen, Dollar and a Dream seemed like an intro song that went on for too long

This album good, 8/10, i thought it would be better but its doper than some releases thats out now.
fav songs:god's gift, breakdown, sideline story, dollar and a dream III, lost ones
wack songs: Cant get enough (even though i like the feel of the song, reminds of big pimpin by jay z)
