Quote (Kiba) imo japan is making the best hip hop at the moment well production wise anyway. Also with pretty much all of the artists who make jazzy hip hop their main target audience these days is japan and they are making ill shit just for them! If you like the jazzy laid back hip hop vibe... 08 easily had the best stuff coming from there and i think this year will be better I agree japanese hip-hop is the best im not just saying this cause im japanese but cause its true even the hip-pop japanese artist sound hella dope. and have got the best production in hip-hop/ Quote (eboyd) and this new MC, One Love, is AMAZING One.Love sounds to much like Run.love........ Quote (EmSeeD) i heard there's the NZ group Nesian Mystik are doing pretty well in japan, but nesian mystik have turned more into a hip POP group and were biting kanye's style. they even had some Japanese dude rapping as a cameo on the end of one of their singles. Never heard them before. dont think i want to either. no diss but NZ hip-hop is to much like US hip-hop only Underground n old school hip-hop from both NZ n US are dope. tho US has some dope mainstreem artist. i havent heard anyone dope from the mainstreem NZ hip-hop.

Quote (EYAR15) dont say that i'm not gonna lie. Raekwon has taken a deep dive into the commercial deep end and i think he drowned anyways, Saul Williams just recently dropped an album apparently but it's not on the same tip as his usual, but he is planning a sequel to "The Inevitable Rise And Liberation Of Niggy Tardust!", again co-produced by NIN's lead member Trent Reznor! i'm excited!

you need a really evolved taste in ARTS to understand Saul he is the peak of what hip hop should encompass so it can gain recognition in the more select places

Quote (Joker13) ughh sure... WTF you mean by that?!?!?! what emcee other than him actually edits what he writes and uses as much wordplay/alliteration? you obviously don't understand what he's trying to say. have you read any of the great poets? Eliot, Shakespeare, Dryden, Donne, Angelou, Brooks, etc.? geez man! next you'll be telling me that Rakim was better at writing lyrics than Bob Dylan!

Quote (ill) hes soul man not hip hop, he's like cee lo no, he's not: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saul_williams ^^^^read the beginning. he's considered a mix of alternative hip hop and poetry. sure, he sings too, but so does Speech from Arrested Development. and ftr, before Gnarls Barkley, Cee Lo WAS an emcee.
