Quote (ill) thats just it you can make good music but its boring as fuck maybe to you. you need to open your horizons wider than hip hop man. music doesn't need to be "dope" to be good. Quote (Joker13) lol you are incredible at dick riding nah saul is okay but your just going to far hes good though but he's just not for me and no rakim is not better at writing lyrics then bob dylan don't assume i would say something like that wow... you are truly quick to throw that dick riding label out. i will just assume this was a joke. it isn't hard to see that Saul is lyrically superior to anyone else, at least that gets good exposure. he may not be your cup of tea, but no emcee (except maybe Sage Francis) puts as much thought and feeling, not to mention technique, in his lyrics as Saul. the guy is just superior when it comes to knowledge of writing techniques to any other. it's not even an opinion, it's a fact. saying his music is superior is subjective though.

Quote (ill) alright but its new wave, its abstract. i wouldnt even call it hip hop, like trip hop i think it encompases hip hop but its in a league of its own Chick Corea, Weather Report, Herbie Hancock, Ornette Coleman, Cecil Taylor, etc., all brought in a NEW WAVE of jazz that didn't sound like any jazz that had been released previously. does that make them not jazz? Herbie Hancock was more funk with subtle jazz notes, even a few tracks that could be classified hip hop, but if you ask anyone they will say he's jazz. would you call him something else other than jazz?

Quote (ill) thats what i said, its good music but its boring as fuck if you say it's boring as fuck that means you are saying something about it that is derogatory and basically you don't like it. unless... you like music that you find to be boring???? i sure as hell don't. i don't even find Vivaldi boring though. i listen to everything from classical to free jazz and everything in between except commercial bullshit and i find only select songs here and there "overhyped" or "boring" so i don't listen to them.

hmm im shit at articulating what i say but here goes lol to call him hip hop is oversymplifying it, the same can be said for any artist's music but when you get music as different as his in the same genre the "hip hop" label is too large. its crossover music - in between genres. ive listened to weather report but not enough to talk about so takee, ok SHIT example but lil waynes new rock venture is all i can think of cos im tired as fuck lol. its fits under the label of rock but its a cross between rock and rap as he raps on his songs, ugg that was shit lol but you feel what im saying?

Weather Report - Birdland: Herbie Hancock - Rockit: Herbie Hancock - Chameleon: ^^^^all of that is jazz. to say that because it doesn't fit perfectly in the genre it isn't is retarded. by that logic i can say the true hip hop was making breakbeats on two turntables at parties and Nas, Premo, Rakim, etc., aren't real hip hop, they are their own new genre that evolved from hip hop. Quote (Joker13) nah it's not a joke i heard you were good at riding dicks [see what i did there ] lol but in all seriousness i think he's just all alright and oh god sage francis... i hate him i want to assinate him wow.... you really just don't like experimental shit AT ALL do you? when it comes to writing ability, those two are far superior to every conventional hip hop artist. Sage was a journalist before becoming a hip hop artist and Saul has degrees in writing and acting including a bachelors and a masters. he knows how to write formally and he has a higher IQ than any other hip hop artist.

Quote (Joker13) i guess i don't but i can give a flying fuck if they have a masters or whatever only thing im interstead in is the music and i said saul was alright but sorry man i hate sage francis once again, i'm not implying this makes his music superior, but it makes his knowledge and ability to write far superior. not the degrees, because we all know some of the greatest writers had no formal education, but his IQ and the fact that he is knwoledgeable on poetic technique. him and Sage.

Quote (Joker13) alright man it's all good though as long as they don't spread wackness i couldn't care less what they do but as for me im not the biggest fan yeah, that's understandable. it's just that you can't argue their ability to write. that's all.
