Quote (ilikebacon3000) "There is a god, no doubt. HE must be really lonely. No one can match his power because he created everything. No one matches his wisdom. He must be really lonely because we cant relate to him due to the fact that humans were born with a lower mental and spiritual capacity. Therefore, he sent Jesus, (himself basically) down in human form so we could relate and learn to love him and live like him and live in his perfect image. If I can make god happy, I want to do it. He created me and everyone else. Everyone I love is in god. God has elements of EVERYONE in him because he created them. Therefore I cannot love someone and not love god as well, as they are apart of god, and god is apart of them at the same time" You sound brainwashed. Quote (ilikebacon3000) "There is a god, no doubt. HE must be really lonely. No one can match his power because he created everything. No one matches his wisdom. He must be really lonely because we cant relate to him due to the fact that humans were born with a lower mental and spiritual capacity. Yet he posses a human characteristic, loneliness? Quote (ilikebacon3000) wuts that Emotional contagion is the idea of people seeing people exibit an emotion and within themselves they begin to feel the same way (but it's seperate from sympathy or empathy). The sensationalism is the high everyone got from feeling the same thing at the same time together. Quote (ilikebacon3000) All is one and one is all for that 5 minutes. Basically it was one big moment of interpersonal catharsis. Quote (8Diagrams) I know, Christians always say it's the presence of God, but it's so obvious that it's much more simple. Agreed? Simple to us, complicated to them.
We all know that each of our end is near; the question is do we accept the end of our living existence, or do we accept our existence as dead men...

I didnt really have any people at school that I was like "I hate him because he thinks im lame". Its not about social accecptance. it's not about that the same deal is done in politics trust me political parties do the same shit Ive seen it they tried it on me they try to show so social acceptability and social sensationalism they make you believe in them and feel part of them

Quote (Menace) develop your individualism that's my advice it has nothing to do whit religion or other BS just to be a pure individual unobstructed by established ideas and institutions Exactly. That's the only way you can truly be sincerely confident in yourself and your beliefs. And you'll be satisfied, and perhaps proud as well for coming to clear conclusions on your own.

I already have come to my own conclusions in religon itsself. For example, I realized even though I attend a baptist church, I refuse to worry or beleive in an eternal hell, and I also dont think you have to be baptised to go to heaven. I think that most sins can be justified in certain circumstances. I have tried very hard to beleive what I beleive in religon. In politics its harder for me because I dont live in a place where I am exploited to a point where I'm pissed. Its an annoyance, but overall where I live its pretty fair. Big middle class, not a whole lot of rich people, not a whole lot of poor people. The knowledge must come first, then I must follow with wisdom. I cant go and seperate myself without the knowledge to do so.
Life's a bitch and I'm just along for the ride.

Quote (Lord_Meth) thats wat Im doing..Im trying to find myself rather than looking for a direct religion Sorry for the double but I thats what I am doing. I have been doing that all summer by studying certain elements of other religons and combinding them. Like, I love the idea in bhuddism of being less materialistic, so I try to take that and incorporate it into my own life as a christan. I love how Islam constantly is trying to attain more knowledge. I can honestly say I dont know a whole lot about them, but every Muslim I have met has been very down to earth, fair-minded, and fairly educated. Alot more deeper than most right-wing evangelicals.

Quote (8Diagrams) In 8th grade I did have a friend who had somewhat similar of a belief. He had this idea that heaven has a bunch of doors and you can experience all types of certain things you enjoyed in life and could enter and exit them at your own will. He also believed that hell was not a fiery pit, but rather you choose one of three doors, and you'd get whatever's in there, but that's it. You'd get bored with it, and that's when the punishment kicked in. What do you think of that idea? he doesn't believe in any hell 8. btw, hell is a hotel room in which you are placed with 2 people that are completely incompatible with your personality http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/No_Exit

Quote (I_Guy) Simple to us, complicated to them. I am going to say again that I think it is over-analyzation. Like how you said "emotion cognition" or whatever. Just another way of making yourself sound smart just to seem unique and above someone with a smaller vocabulary. I respect wisdom and knowledge but you could just as easily said "the feeling everyone gets when they all feel the same" Who is "us"? The Agnostics leaning towards Atheism who sit there and fight everything with science? You can fight anything with science and it still wont explain how it started. You can say "The earth has been here for 7 billion years (or however long it is)" (NOTE: I dont beleive the earth is only 6000 years old) and it still wont explain how it got here except some idea of a big explosion from nothing.... Which still doesent explain how the nothing got here in the first place. And even if there is a god he probably doesent know how he got here either. The only true logical explanation is that there is a higher being. A creator. There MUST be. THere is just no way it just happened how it did. It just is.

Quote (ilikebacon3000) I love the idea in bhuddism of being less materialistic, so I try to take that and incorporate it into my own life as a christan. I love how Islam constantly is trying to attain more knowledge. The problem is you should have come to these conclusions on your own. Sure some of these ideas are good to follow. But why must they be associated with religion. A sensible person will come to these conclusions on their own outside and apart from religion. What your doing is letting other people do the thinking for you instead of doing it yourself.
