kids and teenagers are idiots dude i'm being for real a motherfucking teenager is not gonna sit down listen to you tell him not to drink beer and you know it's true
that is because of the way they are raised and the culture they are brought up in. teach a kid how to behave by actively participating as a proper mentor rather than acting violent, yelling and laying a hand on the child and make the child think for his/herself and take responsibility for his/herself in the fullest sense and they will behave properly. a good example would be me with my sister. i have a 13 (soon to be 14) year old sister and she really looks up to me, especially since i came back from Mississippi. i've noticed that before i would treat her like a subordinate and i would scold her for doing stupid things and she would rebel and she didn't give a damn what i though. since i've come back i've treated her as an equal, taken her advice seriously when she presents it, etc., and i've gained a position with her where, while she does not hang on my every word and doesn't take me seriously when she thinks what i am saying is absurd, she does internalize and take into consideration most of what i say. i've spoken to her numerous times, on the basis of being her equal, about drugs and alcohol, sex, men, etc., and i am proud to say that, while my sister is gorgeous and so she gets a bit caught up in flirting and leading guys on (which is something i hated about so many girls when i was in school), she, unlike her friends, has avoided alcohol and drugs, she is, to the best of my knowledge, still abstaining from sex, etc., and she doesn't go around acting like a gang member which, sadly, so many girls -- including white girls, some of which my sister knows -- get caught up in around here. she's a respectable young teenager (though she should probably take education a bit more seriously especially considering she often puts her athletic privileges in jeopardy by not caring very much about academics and she is the captain of the volleyball team and a potential scholarship athlete if she keeps up with how she's playing).
