If you are implying that I got this from mainstream media, it is not so in real life. I don't know the last time I watched MTV with intentions of actually enjoying a TV show. I usually watch it for about 5 minutes, then realize it's lame and turn it off. Lady Gaga? I thought she was just a dude that cross dressed or some shit. I honestly know nothing about Katy Perry or Lady Gaga other than they are stars for making a song or something I guess.

It's true, to an extent. Being Bi/Gay is slowly becoming less of a taboo.
But for example, where I am (Oklahoma), I am surrounded by redneck nazi fucks, so it's not well tolerated. But fuck it. I don't give a fuck. Most of the rednecks will leave you alone as long as you leave them alone with your "satanic, federal government lovin, gun rights protestin, nigger lovin, treehuggin, faggot ass" way of living.
