Lol it's funny you mention this because, although I don't have a girlfriend right this second, there's been a lot of sexual tension between me and this girl for like 3 months and I just asked her out on a date yesterday haha. You know my taste, she's a latina lol. And to answer your question, no, it's not weird that she's 14 and you're 16. My sister is 14 (turning 15 in a couple days) and her boyfriend is 17, and as you get older age matters less. The girl I am talking to just turned 18 (idk man, I have this thing for young girls, like 18-19, who are latina. They are pretty much my kryptonite lol) and I am 23, and she turned 18 after I turned 23 so she's more than 5 years younger than me. It really isn't a big deal.
What may be a big deal is that the girl I am talking to is still in high school and plays club volleyball with my sister though 
it's funny because I started going to my sister's practices and my mom asked me if I thought any of the girls were pretty on the team (my sister is pretty much the only girl on the team who is under 18. The rest are all 18 or close to it) and so I mentioned that girl as I had already been checking her out a bit. So I started going to all of their practices after that haha. Anyways, that first time I went, her and her friend ended up talking to my mom after and my mom was doing the usual and telling her EVERYTHING about me <_< lol. Well, this girl was interested in everything my mom had to say about me and kept asking me questions. The next practice I came back and she asked me if I wanted to play vball with her and, me being the chikcen shit I am, I said "nah", lol. So I kept going to the practices and I was watching them play and she practically struck a pose while she was in the middle of practice, so I jokingly told my sister's boyfriend that she was posing for me. Shortly after I said that, she turned around, smiled, and waved at me. I ended up going to their tournament in San Diego that weekend and we stayed at a hotel. My room was just down the hall from hers and so I got my stuff out of the car and was walking to my room. It was like 11 o'clock and she was standing outside her door just watching me walk back to my room, so I said "what are you up to?" and we had a short convo. After that, the next day was their tournament. Toward the end of their tournament, my sister and her boyfriend got her to pepper with us (pass a vball around) and she kept passing it to me. She then went in for her last game and during the game, she turns to me, smiles and waves lol. So finally the match finishes and she was like "my ride has to leave so I have to go too" even though she had planned to stay the weekend. My sister and her boyfriend started trying to convince her but she insisted that she had to leave and that even if she did stay she would have no one to hang out with because everyone else has a boyfriend/girlfriend, and so my sister's boyfriend said "well, you have Erik" and she said something like "that's true" lol. Either way though, she left and when she did she looked REALLY sad. So I spent the next 2 weeks being too much of a pussy to talk to her, so my sister's boyfriend got her phone number and texted her to ask if she liked me behind my back, then my friend went up to one of her teammates to make it known that I liked her and he got her number from my sister's boyfriend's phone and started having a convo with her that I didn't know about in which she asked if she was going to see me the next day again as usual so yesterday I somehow grew some courage because I walked up to her and asked her when she's available and it went really well
