We Need To Build Goals For The New Site

JB (username: thehlaw) is an organizer of the Temple of Hip Hop's "Stop The Violence Movement" and he is helping us build our movement, in some respects as an extension of TOHH. What he is willing to do is provide a web designer to assist NtG and the rest of us with designing the new site, plus he's going to help us find sponsors and such so that we don't need to worry about getting donations in order to pay for all of the costs we incur as long as we simply advertise for them. Of course I won't let anyone have us advertise anything we are against, but that is beside the point. We need to make a list of features for the new site. I'll start so you get an idea. I need to give this to the designer and ask one of the people that has an account to build the new site to build an account for this guy and give me the username and password. Here's what I've got so far: -try to build the design as much to the specs of the current site as possible. -transfer all current profiles and modules. -add a section for a radio station to broadcast. -build a video blog. -add an album rating section (see rateyourmusic.com for example). -video/audio uploading capabilities. -more profile building options (adding a background, adding videos/audio, making lists [also see rateyourmusic.com for an example of this], etc.). ....... Build on from there and I will send the list to JB who will in turn send it to his brother in law who is the web designer I am referring to. Thanks.

I propose some sort of page where we guide hip hop newbies through the lifespan of hip hop. Design it like a college course in a way. You know, move chronologically through the many MCs and the overall evolution of Hip Hop. Have a comprehensive map on what albums to listen to in order to build an understanding. Again, just another bouncy idea.

That is kind of what Mnemonic is planning on doing with "Mnemonic Radio" (a play on the name of his album). He wants to go chronologically through the history of hip hop by playing songs from the beginning to start with and go further into it, letting people know the history.

That would be great. But I'm worried about people having a hard time catching it from the beginning and being able to do it at their own pace. I don't know. The idea is established, all the details can be discussed later I guess. All we really need is bullet by bullet of ideas, right?
