that doesnt mean your mainstream
They aint got any videos on BET or MTV, no airplay in Omaha (If your shit makes the radio from LA in Omaha your mainstream) they aint winning no awards, NOTHING
them niggas is underground dispite the LARGE underground fans they got

mainstream aint just about the radio man, if you let the radio dictate what catagory people are then this movement is gonna sit here complaining forever. those guys are mainstream, immortal technique has 2.5m views on 1 video man thats more then some number 1 records get, they are known about, not in the same way as lil wayne but anyone with half a clue about hip hop knows and thats more then enuff people

doom is pretty much mainstream

how can doom be mainstream when i have never heard one song from him being played on the radio ever. i have only seen one music video of his played on an alternative music channel in nz which is now off air, how can that be considered mainsteam? no way

Yeah, I would say MF Doom is underground. Just because he may have a large following doesn't mean he is mainstream.

livin life like some cheesy movie

EXACTLY!

btw, i agree with you on the point you made earlier. i'll rephrase -- if you want to actually make it in the UNDERGROUND hip hop scene you need to be dope. that's why most of these underground cats doing BS like crunk, snap, etc. are virtually unknown. if you wanna make it on the mainstream there is no such requirement.

what im saying is letting the media define whos mainstream is nuts, doesnt make any sense

i think doom shifted 10,000 units in his first week on born like this, idk but in my opinion that aint underground thats mainstream, just because it doesnt compete with the people whos every song gets air doesnt mean its not mainstream

10,000 units is not that much.
