Menace, let me play devil's advocate real quick. You mentioned classical music, stating that it is "still alive" in a sense. Firstly, I think we need to make it clear that when talking about classical music we are speaking of several styles of music that, together, spanned more than 1000 years (about 400 AD until 1800). My question to you is, since you are saying it is still tied to the specific culture that spawned it, how is that culture still alive in your eyes?
