Quote (Adam)
racism is just a much more extreme version of self awareness/caution towards other people. Hell were all racist just some people project it differently. And in doing so fool themselves into believing their without racist thoughts and speculations.
The only bullshit I was gonna come in here with is an "lolwutdidhejustsay" comment, but if you wanna talk, then w00t!
For one, I do agree with what you're saying about predijuice. It's human nature. We all judge, categorize, box things, etc. I don't think it's wrong. It's just nature.
Second of ya'll, I honestly don't like urban, modern, mainstream black culture.. You all know what I'm talking about, because ya'll hate it too. "GUCCI MANE UP IN THIS BITCH I GO HARD NIGGA SAG MY PANTS ALL DAY"... you know, that shit. You're either in denial, or stupid if you won't admit that the majority of people like that are young blacks in urban areas. It's either them, or (mostly) white males from the suburbs who try emulate that shit. So yeah, I dislike a part of black culture. If that makes me racist, then oh well. I wouldn't be on this site, or be a hiphop fan if I hated black people. I don't hate blacks. I just hate that a large amount of them, in urban areas specifically have pretty much fucked themselves up. MLK would be raging right now.
On affirmative action, I used to give a shit, now I kinda do.. I work with a guy who got on because of affirmative action. He speaks little english, can't do anything except dishes/sweeping (can't take orders, and isn't fast enough to make food.. so he gets menial tasks.).. and it's bullshit. He got on because he's Native American. Then again, I'm assuming, and I really shouldn't do that.. but looking at it in perspective, we have a HUGE stack of applications.. and out of everyone, they choose to hire this guy that can't do anything really except menial tasks. And we are in Native America, so I'm sure there are stricter affirmative action laws on Native Americans out here than in other places. It all points towards what I just said: he got on because of his cultural heritage. I have nothing against him personally, he's a nice guy. I like working with him. But we could have hired someone better.
Which is whatever. I can't do anything about it, bitching only makes it worse, and I mean fuck it. It's not worth the time. it won't matter a million years from now.
TLDR: I don't really give a fuck about affirmative action and yeah, everyone is prejudice to a certain degree, by definition. We all make assumptions about people based on looks whether we notice ourselves doing it or not.
