The industry does not want underground exposed to the public, cause than it will switch sides, and those artist making millions off of there lack of talent, will be forced to go get some...

Right its all a conspiracy lol. No actually mainstream rap is just stripped down versions of hip hop. The truth is people in the club dont wanna hear shit like immortal technique, they want stuff they can dance to. So what do major record labels put out? Basic rap beats wit simple flows and melodies. Its real easy to dance to that sorta crap.

Trust me, if there was money in people like immortal technique then record labels wuld do anythin to try to get him or somebody like him.

livin life like some cheesy movie

LMAO! Thats why i use the word Balance? I never used the word conspiracy, but i remember al sharptons ass marching against Gangsta rap trashing CD's in the street trying to ban that, President SENIOR BUSH trying to ban that. After awhile somebody at the top is going to change the game and put in place something else. Why is the voices lost? They stop pushing it, and put in place what it is now. Last i check plenty of people got paid for making lyrical records? And we partied and danced off lyrical records just fine, a whole generation got lost in the struggle can you say Public enemy? Experience is the best teacher...

It was a joke, cuz obviously ur sayin that record labels are not giving talented ppl airplay only because they're talented and their giving untalented ppl airplay only because theyr untalented.

What lyrical album... and purely lyrical album has come out in the past 3 years that has made it platinum? In fact the only lyrical album that I can think of thats gone atleast gold is Lupe Fiasco's The Cool

Your inability to understand what i am saying is a joke....(My opinion) of whats on the radio is untalented (Decipher what i am saying) I speak for myself.

theres not enough money with balance.

Theres is enough money for everything if you invest into it... Again ( My Opinion)

Used as example to describe how people on the top can remove shit if they truly want to. Again ( My Opinion)

I'm speaking golden era, and my experience with music. Again I speak for myself. Which makes it my opinion...

Anymore questions you need answered since i am speaking strictly opinionated? %) >( <_<

Hip Hop is here to stay... Although it has evolved (in some instances De-Evolved), it will stick around indefinitely imo.

Just like the way music is made... decomposed, regathered, remade... Hip hop will do the same

That's funny, because you have done nothin but attacked and been condescending to everyone else on this thread. Which is why I chose to argue wit u. Maybe if u chose to be a little less close minded u won't throw as many tantrums...

and Im arguing ur opinion silly. Ill stop after this if u want to tho

Thats a statement which has been proven false numerous times. Theres only enough money for everything that has a high enough demand for it. (supply and demand)

Yet gangsta rap has sold millions throughout the 90's. and still does

Not sure what area you live in, but how i remember, everything got radio play wack shit and the good shit, 80's threw the 90's.

Quote (Melhex)
There wasn't a barrier or limits on what was played, or who was rapping, i recorded Blow job Betty (Too Short) right off the damn radio, and it was not played on a midnight show, try the mornings, uncut. So if older cats told you that shit was dead in 93, they might of been misinformed, cause that was unheard of at any place where i was in, and in 92 i graduated from high school, not sure what your age is. But that hip hop is dead statement was not even made at least not in my presence. Why i am worried about the radio? Because I want others, to hear others thats why! I know whats up and where to find my personal type of sound. But cats are complaining that the radio and the TV is not giving exposure to certain artist where in the 80's and 90's they did. I am constantly referring people to music cause of this shit, maybe i can use a little bit of help from these other advanced sources, that is my beef....

if no-one was saying hip hop was dead in the 90's then what do you call this:

Common - I USED To Love H.E.R.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y12YgEIFcAY

KRS-One addressed the whole issue with his album Return of the Boom Bap

LMAO! I am not close minded, I value other opinions and don't intentionally try to influence mine.

I guess the demand for underground artist to get a piece of the pie is not influential enough to sit at the same table as the mainstream artist, one eats more than the other.

Gangsta Rap has fell significantly over the years

Common never made an impact on anybody (Me) when he first started, he is not relevant to make any comments (In my opinion) never bought a common album, never will, did not care for him when he first started out, i probably can pick out one or two songs i like by him, but not tripping on him. Common Fans bring it....
If people were saying in the 90's hip hop was dead! Wait a minute everybody knows hip hop was NOT dead in the 90's and thats a proven fact. Everybody was eating at the table..

And Melhex will defend his shit (Opinion) Tell infinity or if my computer crashes. Bring it!!! ("STILL ME TELL THEY KILL ME...2pac Holla if ya hear me")I will check back later tonight when I'm Drunk if i don't go out and listen to 90's music :p

And i am not attacking others this debate is fantastic..Peace to all

you capitalists twist that word is SUPPLY AND DEMAND NOT DEMAND AND SUPPLY the public does not actually demand something you say like actually people WANT something people don't want shit why you think Crank that got so many demands ?? because it was played literally all over again on the radio it was played like over and over and over that's why it got so much demands because we all know labels got deals or own some radio stations and TV stations and they push their shit come on J breakz you saw an artists contract ? i bet you didn't artists are like prisoners now days if they don't do how they tell em they don't eat they are so many clauses in a major label contract is like your loosing your civil rights LMAO :D

I think he meant that because of the rukus and uprising those type of artists were starting they had to dumb down the music to keep it from happening again

Melhex, even though you don't like Common, that in no way invalidates his opinion. No matter what, the man is a well-known real hip hop head and you can't change that. If he was on some fake shit then yeah, you could invalidate it but only if we were talking some pop faggot rapper. And regardless, he's not the only one. Gang Starr said it in 1992 (the song "Mass Appeal") and again in 1998/99 ("You Know My Steez"), 3rd Bass said it around 1992 ("Gasface": called out MC Hammer and such) and KRS-One and Just Ice were even saying that shit in 1987! It's undeniable. People have been talking about the downfall of hip hop since the days of MC Hammer, Young MC, Rob Base and DJ EZ Rock, etc. That truly came into fruition actually when 2pac was at his prime and Diddy was putting his name on everything.
